School of Computer Science & Information Engineering Holds Special Mental Training for Faculty and Staff

On November 3, the School of Computer Science & Information Engineering conducted a special training, Mental Health and Crisis Intervention for College Studentsin Conference Room 320 of the First Office Building. Through this training, the School aims to better carry out mental health education for college students and to improve the quality of talent cultivation. The training meeting was presided over by Ren Zhi, Vice Party Sectary of the School, and lectured by Xia Xuan from the HUTB’s Mental Health Education Center. All the instructors, class advisors and postgraduate tutors of the School attended the training.

 


Xia Xuan started from several recent hot issues of college student psychological crisis to expound on the four development stages and classifications of student psychological crisis. She told the teachers how to discover and identify college students’ common mental illness and psychological problems in daily management and teaching work. Also, she proposed the specific intervention measures for students in crisis. She hoped that the teachers can pay attention to the mental health education for college students, keep paying attention to their mental health, and be good guides for their healthy growth.

 

Finally, Vice Party Sectary Ren Zhi summarized the training. He condensed the requirements of this work into strengthened responsibilities, careful observation, timely feedback, and implemented measures. He hoped that the teachers can integrate the training contents to their work, strengthen education awareness, and implement their job responsibilities, to contribute to cultivating a larger number of excellent and physically and mentally healthy talents.
