Two CPPCC Members in Hunan Delivered Speeches at the Remote Consultation Meeting on Online Deliberation

The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a long-distance consultation meeting on online discussion of government affairs to offer advice and suggestions on strengthening the protection of personal information in the era of big data.As one of the four connected sub-venues, two Hunan-based CPPCC members participated in the remote consultation. Li Weiwei, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the meeting.

Around the theme, Chen Xiaohong, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Hunan, made an interactive speech at the main venue in Beijing. She suggested that relevant ministries and commissions shall coordinate to improve the information protection mechanism and innovatetheinformation protection paths. Chen Xiaohong's proposal received responses from the Central Internet Information Office, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security. Lai Mingyong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference living in Hunan Province, proposed to take the confirmation of data rights as a breakthrough to solve the problem of personal information protection.

Fourteen members and experts spoke at the long-distance consultation meetingon online discussion of government affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, respectively in Liaoning, Anhui, Hunan and Guizhou five venues and through mobile phone connections. Nearly 120 members expressed their opinions through the mobile performance platform and actively made suggestions to senior officials.
