[Hunan Daily] HUTB and Xiangjiang New Area Co-Found Innovation Bases for Industry-education-research Cooperation and Outstanding Talents Cultivation

Hunan Daily·Hunan Today Client, October 11 (Reported by Reporter Wang Han and Correspondent Liu Wu) On the morning of October 10, Hunan Xiangjiang New Area and HUTB signed a cooperation framework agreement in Changsha to jointly build innovation bases for industry-university-research cooperation and for outstanding talents cultivation. HUTB Party Secretary and academician Chen Xiaohong and Fan Guobin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering witnessed the signing.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out cooperation on four aspects, including scientific research and technological breakthroughs, platform construction and achievement transformation, talents cultivation and base construction, innovation and entrepreneurship and project cooperation, in order to systematically promote the industry-education integration between HUTB and Xiangjiang New Area. The two sides will also set up a coordination group to promote cooperation and co-construction, and update each other with the latest progress and agree on major cooperative measures through regular coordination and dispatching meetings. HUTB signed a framework cooperation agreement with the partners, including Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town, the Management Committee of Malanshan (Changsha) Vedio & Cultural Innovation Park, Huazhi Biotech Co., Ltd., SunwardEquipment Group and others. HUTB unveiled three newly established secondary schools, namely, the School of Microelectronics and Physics, the School of Digital Media and Information Engineering and the School of Music. Meanwhile, it announced the establishment of four scientific research institutions, including Hunan “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” Strategic Research Institute, Innovation Research Institute of Science, Technology, Humanities and Arts, Institute for Carbon Neutrality and Higher Education Research Institute. It also issued letters of appointment to the experts of the introducing intelligence program.

Tan Yong, a member of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and director of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee, said that Xiangjiang New Area, as a vanguard of the implementation of the “Three Highlands, Four New Missions” strategy and the construction of a new, modernized Hunan and Changsha, will join hands with HUTB to support the development of colleges and universities. He also called on experts in various fields to further contribute their wisdom to the construction of Xiangjiang New Area and jointly promote the high-quality development of universities.
