HUTB Held the 2022 Faculty and Staff Basketball Match

In order to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, promote the comprehensive development of mass sports and competitive sports, actively build a "sports HUTB", and create a strong atmosphere of sports culture, HUTB held the 2022 Faculty and Staff Basketball Match in the stadium from November 22 to 25. Chen Xiaohong, academician of the CAE, director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, attended and watched the game and served the first ball. Xiao Xiaoqin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and Liu Guoquan, Vice President of the HUTB, attended the activity.
The members of the teaching staff encouraged each other before the game, and worked together during the game. They perfectly coordinated to make movements such as defense and offense, passing and throwing, dribbling and tossing. Sometimes they turned, sometimes they ran, and sometimes they jumped up, and they always kept their concentration throughout the game. Although they were so tired and sweaty, they encouraged each other all the time, struggling to throw the ball into the frame along the beautiful parabola in the air. After the game, the two sides bowed their thanks and shook hands in a friendly manner, demonstrating the sports spirit of "friendship first and competition second". Among them, the “storm fortifications team” and the “ever-victorious team” compete in the final, and the two sides held a stalemate for a long time and the score was roughly the same. Finally, the “storm fortifications team” won with a score of 32:24.
The eyes of the audience followed the jumping track of basketball, holding color swatches, waving the banner of the schools, applauding and shouting, getting up and cheering, and looking at the bouncing ball with passion. The drummer played hard during the competition, and the applause, drum, whistle and cheers were integrated. The exhilarating sound like waves made the atmosphere full of heat.
Cheerleaders from the School of Business Administration, School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, School of Digital Media and Humanities and School of Foreign Languages presented the same wonderful cheerleading performances, while HUTB team dancer bboy brought a different kind of handsome street dance performance. The team members are energetic and neat, turning and jumping with the rhythm of the music, jumping out of the youthful beauty of HUTB students, showing their passion for a healthy China, and adding a touch of joy and relaxation to the tense and fierce atmosphere.
The referee adheres to the principle of fairness and impartiality through the whole process, closely pays attention to the pace of the players and the dynamics and details on the field to maintain the order of the scene, and persists until the end of the competition. After a fierce process, the referee announced the results of the basketball match among the faculty and staff. The “storm fortifications team” won the championship (sub-division of School of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, sub-division of School of Resources and Environment, sub-division of School of Digital Media and Humanities, sub-division of Logistics Management Service Center). The “ever-victorious team” won the second place (sub-division of the School of Business Administration, sub-division of the School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing, sub-division of the School of Foreign Languages, and sub-division of the Fourth Organization). The Laoliu union team won the third place (the sub-division of the Sixth Organization, the sub-division of the School of Computer Science, the sub-division of the School of Accounting). The competition fully showed the team cohesion and positive spiritual outlook of the faculty and staff of our university, and provided a good platform for them to show themselves, relax and strengthen their physique after work.
It was reported that the elimination system was adopted in this basketball match of faculty and staff, and each sub-division can form a team independently or not more than four sub-divisions can form a team, with 5 to 12 athletes in each team, including at least one female teaching staff. The competition adopted the latest "Basketball Competition Rules" approved by the Chinese Basketball Association, which was divided into four sessions with 10 minutes each. The 10 sub-division basketball teams (including a number of sub-division organization teams) with a total of more than 120 faculty and staff actively participated in the competition.
