On June 22, under the unified coordination of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Tourism Volunteer Service Team, volunteers from our School of Art & Design joined 620 volunteers from various university teams and mass culture teams to carry out cultural and tourism volunteer services during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. They provided assistance at important transportation hubs such as Changsha Huanghua International Airport and Changsha South Railway Station, as well as key tourist attractions like Orange Island and Yuelu Mountain in Changsha.

The work uniforms with the theme "Love in Hunan, Beauty Without Borders," designed by faculty and students from our School of Art & Design, were officially unveiled in the city. Energetic university cultural tourism service volunteers, dressed in uniform attire, presented a positive image of university student cultural tourism volunteers in the new era to travelers coming from the north and south.

The design for this event was inspired by the promotional slogan for the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in 2023: "Three Regions, Four Rivers, Let's Meet in Hunan." Chen Xinming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Art & Design, took the lead in forming a design team composed of young teacher Zhang Yilun and undergraduate students majoring in fashion and apparel design, including Li Zehao, Liu Can, and Zhang Shuchen. The team members repeatedly revised the design plans, continuously adjusting colors, patterns, styles, and fabrics, paying close attention to refining every detail.

The overall clothing design features a shade of green, symbolizing health, tranquility, and sustainability. The design inspiration for the patterns comes from the distinctive landscapes of Hunan, incorporating elements such as the Aiwan Pavilion on Yuelu Mountain, Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, and Yueyang Tower to decorate the front part of the clothing. The back part of the clothing integrates elements of Hunan's tea culture, the stilted houses of Fenghuang Ancient Town, Mount Hengshan (Nanyue), and the Taohuayuan National Forest Park.. In terms of style design, the women's clothing features a stand-up collar design that fully showcases the classical and graceful Chinese style, while the men's clothing incorporates a traditional Chinese-style mandarin collar with frog buttons, emphasizing the charm of stability and grandeur from Chinese traditional culture. The clothing is made from durable and wrinkle-resistant polyester fabric, which is anti-static, breathable, and suitable for various indoor and outdoor activities.
