Xiangjiang Laboratory Takes the Lead in Advanced Computing and Artificial Intelligence at the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley

On the morning of October 10, Xiangjiang Laboratory and World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley signed a contract, marking Xiangjiang Laboratory’s official presence in World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley, a pioneer zone for creating a global R&D center. Xiangjiang Laboratory has taken a crucial step in its construction and development, laying a solid foundation for Changsha to build a global R&D center.
The signing ceremony was attended by Chen Xiaohong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and Tan Yong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, Vice Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-tech Industrial Development Zone) and Secretary of CPC Yuelu District Committee. The signing ceremony was hosted by Guo Lifu, a member of the CPC Working Committee of and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-tech Industrial Development Zone). Other attendees included Liu Guoquan, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice President of HUTB; Yi Mianyang, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice President of HUTB; and Hu Chunhua, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, among other leaders from Xiangjiang Laboratory, Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-tech Industrial Development Zone), Changsha Information Industrial Park, Hunan Lugu Development Group Co., Ltd., Changsha Software Park, and other relevant organizations.
Academician Chen Xiaohong expressed the most sincere gratitude on behalf of the Xiangjiang Laboratory to Hunan Xiangjiang New Area and all those who have been concerned and supportive of the development and construction of the Xiangjiang Laboratory. She mentioned that the official entry of the Xiangjiang Laboratory into the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley marks a significant milestone in the development of the laboratory. The World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley is positioned as the core area of the advanced computing industry cluster, equipped with comprehensive industry support and a focus on scientific research and development. It is a pioneer in building a global research and development center. The collaboration between Xiangjiang Laboratory and the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley will fully leverage the leading role of scientific research, accelerate the transformation of research results into market outcomes, and create a demonstration effect of "1+1>2." This partnership will help boost the higher quality development of the Xiangjiang New Area, establish a solid foundation for Changsha to become a global research and development center, and contribute the "Xiangjiang" strength to the realization of Hunan's "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" blueprint.
Secretary Tan Yong, on behalf of the CPC Working Committee and Management Committee of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, extended a warm welcome to the Xiangjiang Laboratory entering the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley. He noted that the Xiangjiang Laboratory is an important part of the "4+4 Sci-Tech Innovation Project," which is implemented under the deployment of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government. It is a significant innovation platform for strengthening the computing power support of Hunan. The World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley focuses on the development of advanced computing in four core areas: computing power, algorithms, data, and AIOT. These areas perfectly align with the Xiangjiang Laboratory's research directions, which encompass computing power, algorithms, data, and network. It is hoped that both parties will work together to deeply explore the fields of advanced computing and artificial intelligence, accelerate the development of leading scientific and technological innovations, and collaboratively establish an exemplary benchmark for the efficient integration of industry, university, research, and application.
The attendees first watched a promotional video about the Xiangjiang Laboratory. Following that, in the presence of leaders including Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary Tan Yong, Deputy Director Liu Guoquan, and Deputy Director Yi Mianyang, Deputy Director Hu Chunhua signed a House Lease and Sale Agreement with Hunan Lugu Development Group Co., Ltd. Deputy Director Yi Mianyang signed an Agreement on Support for the Landing of the Xiangjiang Laboratory in the Changsha Information Industrial Park with the Changsha Information Industrial Park Management Committee. During the digital building handover ceremony, the leaders present jointly pressed the power button to illuminate the building where the Xiangjiang Laboratory has settled in a digital video.
The Xiangjiang Laboratory, as the first provincial laboratory unveiled in Hunan, is a significant innovation platform for strengthening computating power support. Its presence in the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley represents a forward-looking layout for Hunan's development of the computing industry. Through the collaboration between Xiangjiang Laboratory and the World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley, they aim to jointly advance the integrated development of computing power, algorithms, data, and networks. In the wave of global intelligence, they are running ahead in the "new track" of advanced computing and artificial intelligence. The World Computing - Changsha Intelligent Valley project, as the pioneering area for building Changsha into a global R&D center, is located at the core of Xiangjiang New Area, i.e. Changsha's western gateway, covering an area of 1000mu.
