Talent is the primary resource driving development. The CPC HUTB Committee attaches great importance to talent development, aiming to advance the realization of the university's "Three Advances and Three Highs" strategic goals through the cultivation of a high-level talent pool. This effort is instrumental in propelling the construction of Xiangjiang Laboratory into a national strategic scientific and technological force. By employing various methods such as "going out, inviting in, and recommending talent through talent", the university has broadened channels for talent acquisition. The hosting of the "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" serves as a crucial mechanism for concentrated talent attraction under the "inviting in" initiative. Since 2017, this form of forum has been successfully held for four sessions.

In preparation for this academic forum, the CPC Committee Faculty Affairs Department, in collaboration with various secondary schools since the beginning of the year, actively recruited talents through a combination of online and offline approaches. They engaged in online video recruitment, virtual job fairs, and offline recruitment trips to "Double First-class" universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, and other places to attract discipline leaders and doctoral candidates. The 71 scholars participating in the "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" were selected from over a thousand resumes submitted to our university. They are outstanding talents who meet the developmental needs of our academic disciplines, reflecting the university's talent acquisition standards of both seeking talents eagerly and selecting the best candidates.

The "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" aims to provide a platform for scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to engage in intellectual debates and exchange ideas. It creates opportunities to enhance understanding, facilitate communication, and fosters the exchange of creative thoughts, theories, and viewpoints around academic frontiers and hot topics. The forum also serves as a means to gain insights into our university's development strategies, policies, and talent pool construction. By inviting outstanding scholars from around the world to join HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory, it seeks to achieve mutual benefits and development, contributing to the co-creation of a bright future.
