HUTB Flag Guard Team Achieves Outstanding Results in National Exhibition Competition

2023-12-08

From November 30 to December 4, 2023, the 2023 Chinese College Students National Flag Guard Exhibition Competition was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. After two days of intense competition, our university's flag guard team stood out with outstanding skills and a good spirit, achieving first place in the formation category (Group A) and third place in the overall score for groups (Group A), bringing the event to a perfect conclusion.

This competition is organized by the Federation of University Sports of China and is divided into three categories: Group A (undergraduate institutions), Group B (vocational colleges), and Group C (high-level teams). It includes two competitions: flag-raising exhibition and formation performance. It is reported that this competition is based on the relevant regulations of the flag-raising ceremony of the guard of honor of the three services of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Formation Regulations. It is one of the most influential, highest-level, and most competitive flag culture events for college students in our country so far. Nearly 600 team leaders, coaches, and athletes from 29 representative teams of 14 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, including Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Beijing Sport University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Jiangxi Normal University, HUTB, Sichuan Agricultural University, Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction, Suqian Zeda Vocational & Technical College, Shijiazhuang Vocational College of Finance & Economics, and Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology, participated in the final competition.

This is the first time that our university's flag guard team has advanced to participate in the national finals. The excellent results achieved would not have been possible without the care and guidance of the CPC HUTB Committee and the strong support of various departments. In this competition, 17 students from our university's flag guard team participated, competing alongside teams from the other 11 universities in Group A. Under the guidance of the teachers, all the participating team members trained hard, actively prepared for the competition, and demonstrated a good spirit with full enthusiasm, high morale, and smooth technical movements, bringing honor to the university.

After the competition, our university's flag guard team engaged in friendly exchanges with various universities such as Tsinghua University and Southwest University, embodying the spirit of "friendship first, competition second". Throughout the entire exchange process, everyone was delighted to come together for mutual learning and communication. This was made possible by the common identity as flag guards, united in the shared commitment to safeguarding a common flag. (Reported by Defense Education Department)
