HUTB Held 2023 Faculty Badminton Team Competition

In order to promote the national fitness campaign at HUTB, improve the competitive level of badminton sports, and activate campus cultural life, on December 9, the university held a faculty badminton team competition with the theme of "Building Dreams at HUTB, Striving for a New Journey" at the Lingnan Stadium. Xiao Xiaoqin, former Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Chairman of the Labour Union, attended the event and presented awards to the winners. 18 teams from various labour unions and more than 200 faculty members participated in the event.

With the referee's command, the competition officially began. On the field, the athletes were sometimes engaging in close combat, sometimes delivering powerful smashes, sometimes lightly lifting the ball over the net, and sometimes making rapid kill shots... The teachers, who are usually in the classroom, have now transformed into energetic athletes, showcasing their athletic style.

After a tense and intense competition, the branch labour union of the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies won the championship, the branch labour union of the Library won the runner-up, and the branch labour union of the School of Computer Science won the third place. The fourth to eighth places were respectively won by the branch labour unions of the School of Finance, the School of Science, the School of Accounting, the School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing, and the School of Business Administration. The School of Sports and Health was awarded the Special Contribution Award.

Through this competition, not only has the enthusiasm of faculty members in participating in sports increased, but also their physical fitness has been enhanced. At the same time, it has promoted the nationwide fitness campaign at HUTB and showcased the vibrant and upward spirit of HUTB faculty members, as well as the spirit of unity, hard work, and striving for excellence.
