HUTB Hosts 2025 Spring-Summer Sports Season Student Football Tournament

On the afternoon of May 25, the 2025 HUTB Spring-Summer Sports Season Student Football Tournament concluded successfully. In the finals, the International Students Team and the School of Resources and Environment Team claimed the men's and women's championships respectively.


The tournament was hosted by the Sports and Health Promotion Committee, organized by the School of Sports and Health in collaboration with the Student Affairs Division and the HUTB Committee of the CYLC, with support from the Student Football Association. The tournament featured both men's and women's divisions. The men's division comprised 16 teams competing in a group stage round-robin followed by single-elimination crossover matches, while the women's division had 3 teams playing a double round-robin points system.

The men's division final featured a showdown between the School of Microelectronics and Physics and the International Students Team. The match drew a large crowd of passionate fans, creating an electrifying atmosphere at the venue. In the first half, the International Students Team took a 2-0 lead with a goal in the opening minute and another in the final minute before halftime. After the sides switched ends for the second half, the School of Microelectronics and Physics mounted a fierce comeback, scoring twice to level the match. The match ended 2-2 in regular time, proceeding to a penalty shootout. During the penalty shootout, international student goalkeeper Michael delivered a heroic performance, saving three spot kicks from the School of Microelectronics and Physics to secure a 3-2 shootout victory (5-4 on aggregate) and clinch the championship for his team.

Heads of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, School of Sports and Health, School of Microelectronics and Physics, and School of International Business presented awards to the winning teams and individuals.
