HUTB International Students Actively Participate in 4th CAETE

The 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) recently commenced. On the morning of June 13, the China-Africa Dialogue on Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship was held in Changsha. Wang Ren, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Jin Min, Deputy Director; Li Jianjun, Vice Dean of the School of Economy & Trade; and Shi Bo, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, led a delegation of African international students from our university to participate in the event.
As a key side event of the 4th CAETE, the Dialogue was themed "Harnessing the Power of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Shared Youth Development", aiming to establish a practical cooperation platform for China-Africa youth innovation and entrepreneurship. The event attracted over 300 participants from Chinese and African governments, international organizations, African embassies in China, and international business associations.
In the afternoon, faculty and students from our university also participated in the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area – China Africa Youth Conference. The conference facilitated in-depth discussions and collaborations through various formats—including thematic dialogues, roundtables, project signings, and exchanges with universities, enterprises, and industrial parks—centered on advancing practical cooperation between Chinese and African youth in trade, technology, and culture, while consolidating resources for Africa-oriented economic engagement, innovation and entrepreneurship.
International students from our university have participated in the CAETE for four consecutive sessions. Moving forward, the university will leverage its distinctive strengths to advance the Belt and Road Initiative, intensifying efforts in China-Africa economic research and education, thereby contributing wisdom and strength to building a China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
