HUTB Students Win a Good Performance in China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling

Recently, the results of the China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling were published. Among the 67 teams participating in the competition, 46 teams won prizes, including 3 national-level first prizes, 2 national-level second prizes, 13 provincial-level first prizes, 15 provincial-level second prizes and 18 provincial-level third prizes. The number and rate of awards are at a front ranking of the colleges and universities in the whole province.

The China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling is one of the first 19 competitions listed in the ranking of higher discipline competitions, which is under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The 2022 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling was signed up by 1606 universities/campuses from China, Britain, Malaysia and other countries, and 54257 teams (49424 undergraduate teams, 4833 junior college teams) with a total of more than 160000 people. Among them, only 35 universities have won the national-level first prize in three or more undergraduate groups. The purpose of this competition is to further improve the literacy of college students and enhance their comprehensive and innovative ability to establish mathematical models and use computers to solve engineering problems, so as to cultivate innovative talents and promote the teaching reform of related disciplines.
