[Toward 2035: Integration and Innovation for the Future] Xiangjiang Laboratory Unveils Five Sci-Tech Innovation Products
2025-05-31
On the morning of May 29, the "Toward 2035: Integration and Innovation for the Future" Technology and Culture Expo (2025 Technology Festival) and "Future Technologies and Future Industry Innovation" Academic Symposium, jointly organized by HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory, commenced at the Xiangjiang Lecture Hall in Xiangjiang Building. Nearly 20 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with foreign academicians, and over 100 experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs attended the event.

Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, delivered an opening address on behalf of the event organizers. She stated that to the tide's summit rise, then row beyond—Where vistas without end dawn. As the tide of cultural and technological integration surges forward, HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory aspire to be "wave riders", joining hands with academicians, industry leaders, and alumni colleagues. Taking this Expo as a new starting point, we will build an open, shared, and innovative platform to collectively explore cutting-edge scientific issues, share innovative achievements and experiences, and spark creative inspiration. Together, we aim to make strategic moves in future industries, advance the transformation of scientific achievements and industrial innovation upgrades, and support university student innovation and entrepreneurship.
At the opening ceremony, Xiangjiang Laboratory unveiled five innovative products jointly developed with partner institutions under its major research initiatives. These include: "Xiangjiang Smart Brain" Active Mind-Control Rehabilitation Glove; "Xiangjiang Core Source" Fully Automated Stem Cell Intelligent Preparation System; “Xiangjiang Smart Companion" Embodied Intelligent Service Robot; "Xiangjiang Creative Mind" AI Screenwriter Platform & Personalized Smart Radio; and "Xiangjiang Intelligent Manufacturing" Process Model-Driven Industrial Robot (Laser Welding).

Professor Hou Hailiang, Director of the Department of R&D and External Relations at Xiangjiang Laboratory; Professor Liang Wei, Director of the Department of Construction and Services; and Associate Researcher Yuan Yige, Deputy Director of the Industrialization Department, delivered presentations on their respective projects’ product advantages, technological achievements, and application prospects.
The "Xiangjiang Smart Brain" Active Mind-Control Rehabilitation Glove was co-developed by Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB under major research initiatives. This product utilizes high-precision EEG sensors to capture subtle neural signals, synchronously driving pneumatic flexible gloves to execute precise rehabilitation movements. It empowers patients to regain limb control through intuitive "mind control", significantly enhancing rehabilitation confidence and efficiency.
The "Xiangjiang Core Source" Fully Automated Stem Cell Intelligent Preparation System was co-developed by Xiangjiang Laboratory and Shanghai Tongjin Stem Cell Technology Co., Ltd. under major research initiatives. It achieves three core breakthroughs, reconstructing the entire cell preparation chain: automated raw material processing and 2D adherent intelligent preparation to avoid human error and reduce batch-to-batch variability; and real-time data tracking with intelligent traceability throughout the entire process—from sample to finished product, every step is traceable and controllable.
The "Xiangjiang Smart Companion" Embodied Intelligent Service Robot was developed through Xiangjiang Laboratory's "Challenge Listing" initiative, in collaboration with HUTB, Hunan SpeedBot Robotics Co., Ltd., and Go Further.AI. This product operates without commands, autonomously initiating environmental scans to identify object positions through visual algorithms and detect improper placements. It achieves a paradigm shift from command execution to proactive service, embodying “empathetic intelligence” to truly become life's "invisible guardian."
The "Xiangjiang Creative Mind" AI Screenwriter Platform & Personalized Smart Radio were co-developed by Xiangjiang Laboratory, HUTB, Hunan Fengmang Media Co., Ltd., and Hunan Mango Intelligent Media Technology Development Co., Ltd., under major research initiatives. The AI Screenwriter Platform leverages open-source large language models and multimodal technology. By inputting keywords, users can rapidly generate shot lists, character dialogues, and scene designs—multiplying the efficiency of bringing creative ideas to life. The Personalized Smart Radio employs big data technology and integrates the DeepSeek large model with exclusive AI agent capabilities. Combining technological empowerment, Mango TV’s distinctive style, and a youth-oriented approach, it deeply immerses the Party’s innovative theories into the practices of young innovators and entrepreneurs.
The "Xiangjiang Intelligent Manufacturing" Process Model-Driven Industrial Robot (Laser Welding) was co-developed by Xiangjiang Laboratory and Hunan Central South Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. under major research initiatives. This product enables multimodal input for process knowledge Q&A. In welding applications for construction machinery, rail transit, and aerospace components, it automatically generates process specifications by receiving parameters such as interface types and welding materials through its large model. The robot dynamically adjusts welding process parameters based on composite vision, advancing complex process design from "experience-driven" to "data-intelligent".
Academician Chen Xiaohong expressed her aspiration to conduct groundbreaking research that pushes the boundaries of AI’s frontier domains, achieving disruptive technological innovations while ensuring practical applications.
Additionally, the opening ceremony featured: the Xiangjiang Laboratory–HUTB Sci-Tech Achievement Release, the Xiangjiang Laboratory Partner Signing Ceremony, the unveiling of the School of Intelligent Robotics, the donation ceremony for Baidu Apollo 4th-generation autonomous vehicles, the Outstanding Alumni Awards, the Appointment Ceremony for University Student Entrepreneurship Mentors, and the awards ceremony for the "Xiangjiang Cup" AI + Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
