HUTB - Xiangjiang Laboratory "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance Holds First Half of 2025 Reporting Performance

On the afternoon of July 10, the first half of 2025 work summary meeting and reporting performance of the HUTB - Xiangjiang Laboratory "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance was held at the Lingnan Yayun Music Academy. Attending the event were Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB; Gan Dejian, member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB; and Hou Junjun and Mo Xiangyi, members of the CPC HUTB Committee, Vice Presidents of HUTB and Deputy Directors of Xiangjiang Laboratory, among others. Heads of member departments of the alliance committee, leaders of member groups, artistic directors, performers, as well as new staff and research assistants from the Xiangjiang Laboratory and the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, among others, participated in the event.

Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, delivered a speech. She pointed out that on the occasion of the third anniversary of the unveiling of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, organizing the first half-year work summary meeting and reporting performance of the HUTB - Xiangjiang Laboratory "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance is not only about showcasing the "report card" and reflecting on the efforts of the past half year but also about fully loading the "progress bar," gathering strength for a sprint, heading into the "second half" of the year, accelerating the pace of integrated development, and broadly consolidating tremendous collective force to strive for first-class excellence.

Academician Chen Xiaohong emphasized that since its establishment in December 2024, the "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance has driven rapid momentum and unleashed vitality in the integrated development of culture and technology at HUTB and the Xiangjiang Laboratory. It has staged a vivid "two-way empowerment", nurtured a batch of new products closely aligned with the needs of the times, opened up new spaces for promoting cultural prosperity, and received widespread acclaim from all sectors of society. She expressed hope that the alliance would keep in mind the proposition put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Hunan to "explore effective mechanisms for the integration of culture and technology," seize the momentum and advance with the trend, continuously move toward "deep integration," vigorously cultivate new-quality talent, explore new experiences, achieve new results, and constantly highlight the distinctive features of "culture + technology" integration. She urged the alliance to make further contributions in the grand vision of building an innovative first-class university and developing strategic technological strength.

Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, presented the plaque and flag to the newly established Changle Creation Troupe. Member groups of the "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance summarized their work for the first half of 2025 and plans for the second half in written form, embarking on the next phase with full enthusiasm and high morale.

Subsequently, the reporting performance by the alliance teams commenced. The chamber symphony Under the Silver Moonlight is full of romanticism, using beautiful vocal music to tell the tale of love and moonlight. The song medley Autumn Love, Gratitude, and Beautiful Prairie, My Home flows like poetry and painting, with dancers blossoming lyrically. From the whispers of golden autumn to the ode to life, and finally to the vastness of the prairie, it fully showcases the beauty of the symphony between nature and humanity. The horn solo excerpt from Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5 conveys destiny through its brass tones, bursting with the soulful essence of Russian romance.

The accordion and piano duet Give You a Rose features resonance between the keyboards and bellows, with dancers gracefully moving to the music, as the charm of the western regions blossoms between the keys and reeds. The folk music performance Sparkling Red Star perfectly integrates red songs with traditional Chinese folk music, interpreting the spirit of patriotic struggle in the new era. The male solo The Endless Yangtze River Flows East expresses reflections on life with a bold voice, presenting profound historical philosophy. The female chorus Crystal Clear Wanquan River paints emerald waves with lingering Hainan melodies, singing the enduring fish-and-water relationship between the army and the people with graceful Li ethnic charm. The flute solo Whipping the Horse to Hurry the Grain Transport showcases the spirited demeanor of the laboring people who love life through rich performance techniques.

The poetry recitation The Most Beautiful Xiangjiang Red pays tribute to the picturesque beauty of Xiangjiang Red, where the spark of technology illuminates the mountains and rivers, and the song of wisdom inspires the grand poetry of the new era. The dance Ba Lang Zai features joyful steps leaping across the Tianshan Mountains, with youthful passion blooming with the fragrance of the Silk Road. The male vocal ensemble Star Words, Star Wishes delivers a deeply moving performance, singing out the sincere emotions deep within people's hearts. The accordion and piano duet Shuttles between Gold and Silver uses a melodious tune to encourage everyone to cherish precious time and strive tirelessly. The accordion solo Under the Sky of Paris is lively and passionate, bringing the romantic atmosphere of Paris to the scene.

Finally, Academician Chen Xiaohong was invited to join everyone in singing classic songs such as What The World Gave Me, Song of the Yangtze River, Tomorrow Will Be Better, I Love You, China, and A Toast to the Motherland. She encouraged everyone to persevere and achieve further successes, striving to promote new progress and results in the integrated development of culture and technology. The summary meeting and reporting performance concluded successfully in a passionate and enthusiastic atmosphere.
