Zhang Guozuo, Professor, Doctor, Doctoral Supervisor, Deputy Director of Board of Regents, Hunan University, and Honorary Dean of Marxist College; chief expert of Central Marxist Theoretical Research and Construction Engineering, expert of Expert Committee of National Textbook Committee (Marxist Engineering), expert of Discipline Planning Review Group of National Social Science Fund of China; Director of Research Center of China Cultural Soft Power, Editor-in-Chief of Cultural Soft Power, Leading Talent of Hunan New Think Tank, Yuelu Scholar (Leading Post); the founder and guest speaker of the theoretical TV film Popular Socialism; chief contributor of the theoretical TV film Navigation Mark, and the academic director of CCTV Approachable Words of Xi Jinping. He has presided over the "High-level Forum on Research of the Chinese Cultural Soft Power" for many times. He has been invited to give theoretical reports to relevant departments of the central government, Party committees of relevant provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and relevant universities for many times. He has been interviewed by CCTV Dialogue and Topics in Focus for many times. He has talked with famous scholars from the United States, Britain, Russia, Germany, Italy and other countries for many times to clarify China's position, viewpoint and academic expression, eliminate misunderstandings, enhance understanding, promote exchanges and enhance China's right to speak internationally. He used to be deputy director of the Theory Bureau of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and director of the National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office. He has presided over 3 major projects specially entrusted by the National Social Science Fund of China. Since 2012, he has presided over the construction project of philosophy and social science development report continuously funded by the Ministry of Education. He has published four monographs, including History of Scientific Independence, New Exploration of the Way of Employing People, Outline of the Study of Chinese Cultural Soft Power, Theoretical Thinking and Cultural Soft Power, and two works in English abroad, and has edited 51 volumes, such as Report on the Development of Chinese Cultural Soft Power, Research Series of Chinese Cultural Soft Power, Chinese Pride and Essays on Cultural Soft Power of Chinese Young Scholars. He has published nearly 300 papers in Qiushi, People's Daily, Guang Ming Daily, Economic Daily, Marxist Studies, Philosophical Studies, Red Flag Manuscript, Chinese Journal of Social Sciences, Guide to Ideological and Theoretical Education, and Scientific Socialism and People's Forum. He has won one first prize and one second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences of the Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial Government; one second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. He has published a collection of poems Vicissitudes of Life - Selected Poems of Zhang Guozuo in People's Literature Publishing House.
