Speaker's Profile:

Wang Yuewen, Member of the Presidium of the China Writers Association, former Chairman of the Hunan Writers Association, and renowned author, has published numerous works including: Novels: Home Village, National Painting, Meici Stories, Soul Bird, Between Day and Night, Pale Yellow, Chancellor of the Great Qing, Year One of Love; Novellas: Water Village, Winter Without Snow; Essays: The Price of Humor, Echoing Mountains; Interviews: Wang Yuewen’s Literary Memoir, Without Violation. Among his works, Chancellor of the Great Qing has been published in Japanese, while the novel Home Village and the short story collection Water Village are available in English translations. His accolades include the Lu Xun Literary Prize, Wu Cheng'en Novel Award, Hunan Literary Prize for Youth, Hunan Cultural Innovation Award, and Hunan Literature & Arts Award, along with honors from prestigious journals such as Harvest, Dangdai Bimonthly, Selected Fictions, Chinese Writers, and Novella Selections. He is a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance for Distinguished Experts and has been selected for the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee’s Cultural Masters and "Four Batches" Talent Program.
