HUTB's Volunteer Service Project Selected as One of Top Ten Exemplary Demonstration Projects in Hunan College Student Community Practice Program

To promote the spirit of Lei Feng, and advance the development of youth volunteer service practices, on the morning of March 4, the Youth League Committee of Hunan Province held the "Learning from Lei Feng in Lei Feng's Hometown" million youth volunteer service practice and education event, as well as the launch ceremony for college student community practice programs at Central South University. Gan Dejian, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, was invited to lead the delegation to attend the ceremony.
Our university's Youth Volunteers Association and the School of Art & Design presented and explained the community practice project "Building Beautiful Corridors, Creating Livable Communities" at the event site. Li Zhichao, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Hunan Province, and other leaders visited the project exhibition of this event, attentively listening to detailed introductions of various volunteer service projects. Vice President Gan Dejian visited our university's booth and highly praised the hard work of the young volunteers.
Deng Yiqi, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Hunan Province, issued an initiative and presented exemplary demonstration projects. Among them, our School of Art & Design' community practice project "Building Beautiful Corridors, Creating Livable Communities" was successfully selected as one of the top ten exemplary demonstration projects in the college student community practice program. Yang Jia, Secretary of HUTB Youth League Committee, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Changhua Community in Wangchengpo Subdistrict, Xiangjiang New Area (Yuelu District). Wang Aiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Changhua Community in Wangchengpo Subdistrict, Xiangjiang New Area (Yuelu District), highly appreciates the effectiveness of our young volunteers' work in the "Little Lei Talks About Volunteerism - Hunan Youth Volunteer Story Collection." She stated that the students' participation effectively empowered grassroots governance and reduced the burden of community work.
The launch ceremony called on young people to actively engage in volunteer service practices, promote the spirit of Lei Feng, and further implement the "Learning from Lei Feng in Lei Feng's Hometown" brand for education through practice. Our university, as an outstanding youth volunteer organization, will actively embody the concept of "Learning from Lei Feng in Lei Feng's Hometown," continuously deepen the essence of volunteer service, enhance the ideology of volunteer service, and make volunteer service a spontaneous action for young people, contributing youthful energy to the activities of young people learning from Lei Feng in Hunan.
