2025-04-03
On the morning of April 2, the Hunan Province "15th Five-Year" Sci-Tech Innovation Master Plan Research Team conducted a field visit to Xiangjiang Laboratory to gain in-depth understanding of its innovative practices in artificial intelligence and advanced computing. The research team was led by the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province, comprising over 20 leading experts from Tsinghua University's Institute for Chinese Development Strategy of Engineering & Technology and the Hunan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information. Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Deputy Director Hu Chunhua accompanied the delegation throughout the visit.

At Xiangjiang Laboratory's Scientific Achievements Exhibition Hall, the research team gained a systematic understanding of the laboratory's key technological breakthroughs in AI foundation models, embodied intelligence (humanoid) robotics, intelligent manufacturing, culture + technology, smart transportation, low-altitude economy, smart energy, and computing acceleration through viewing the laboratory's innovation achievement promotional video, examining sci-tech cooperation and exchange cases, and observing technology application scenario demonstrations. They gave high recognition to the relevant achievements.
This field study provides critical reference points for Hunan Province's "15th Five-Year" Sci-Tech Innovation Master Plan formulation, marking a phase of deep integration between top-level provincial S&T design and strategic scientific capacity building. Next, Xiangjiang Laboratory will establish a dedicated task force to align with the planning process, focusing on an "AI Plus" strategy to empower all industries—injecting robust momentum for developing new quality productive forces and establishing a global R&D center city.
