The unveiling ceremony for Xiangjiang Laboratory's National Postdoctoral Research Workstation was held in the Zhiyuan Lecture Hall of Xiangjiang Building on the morning of April 7. The unveiling ceremony was attended by distinguished leaders including: Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; Li Yongjun, Secretary of the Leading CPC Group and Director of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province; Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB; Yang Liangqi, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB; and Hu Chunhua, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory. Leaders from relevant departments of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province, Xiangjiang Laboratory, and HUTB, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Executive Deputy Director Liu Guoquan.

Academician Chen Xiaohong expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province for its longstanding care and support. She stated that under the strong leadership of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Xiangjiang Laboratory has focused on the field of artificial intelligence and advanced computing, implementing the "AI Plus" initiative around core elements such as computing power, algorithms, data, and networks. The lab has assembled a high-caliber research team combining full-time and adjunct members, including national-level talents like academicians from both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, fully leveraging its strategic foundational role in driving innovation. Academician Chen further emphasized that the CPC HUTB Committee attaches paramount importance to university students' innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. The university has thoroughly implemented the "Seven-Pronged Action Plan," actively explored a novel incubation model integrating "new-type R&D institutions + university startup incubation + industrial park acceleration," continuously increased funding for entrepreneurial incubation, and introduced a series of pragmatic measures to support student entrepreneurship. These efforts are dedicated to establishing a new pinnacle of innovation and entrepreneurship education. She expressed confidence that with the strong support of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province, Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB will undoubtedly emerge as powerful engines driving the development of new quality productive forces, making new and greater contributions to advancing the Hunan chapter of Chinese modernization.

Director Li Yongjun extended warm congratulations on Xiangjiang Laboratory's approval as a National Postdoctoral Research Workstation, and Professors Hu Chunhua and Xie Xiaoliang's selection as experts receiving the special government allowance of the State Council. He noted that as one of Hunan Province's four major laboratories, Xiangjiang Laboratory has—since its establishment over two years ago—consistently focused on artificial intelligence and advanced computing research. The lab has established a robust scientific innovation system, produced original breakthroughs, and demonstrated strong growth momentum. HUTB has achieved outstanding developmental accomplishments in recent years, particularly in innovation and entrepreneurship education. The university's student startup incubator, established for over a decade, has cultivated a robust culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, forming a distinctive "Triple Innovation" brand (innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity). Students demonstrate strong entrepreneurial mindsets, with notably successful enterprise incubation outcomes. The university has become a prime implementation site for Hunan's "Seven-Pronged" policy initiative, providing a solid practical foundation for its execution. He stated that the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province will provide comprehensive support and guarantees for talent development at the laboratory and innovation/entrepreneurship initiatives at the university. He also expressed hope that Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB would build on their achievements and scale new heights, making even greater contributions to realizing Hunan's "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" vision.

Academician Chen Xiaohong and Director Li Yongjun jointly unveiled the plaque for Xiangjiang Laboratory's newly approved National Postdoctoral Research Workstation. Director Li then presented the State Council Special Government Allowance certificates to the honored experts. Warm applause erupted on the scene.

Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered concluding remarks. She emphasized that the approval of Xiangjiang Laboratory's National Postdoctoral Research Workstation marks a new milestone in cultivating high-level talent. She noted this achievement not only serves as strong recognition of the laboratory's and HUTB's accomplishments in building top-tier research teams and advancing technological innovation, but also raises greater expectations for future endeavors. Academician Chen stated that Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB will take this as a new starting point to further intensify efforts in cultivating high-level talent, deepen government-industry-university-research integration, accelerate the translation of scientific achievements, and advance innovation and entrepreneurship to new heights—making greater contributions to Hunan's integrated reform of education, science and technology, and talent development.

Prior to the meeting, Director Li Yongjun and his delegation conducted an on-site inspection of Xiangjiang Laboratory's achievements exhibition hall, science and technology innovation base, and various experimental platforms in the Technology Building, as well as HUTB's student entrepreneurship incubator (Lingnan Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation Park), including Creativity Workshop, Smart Innovation Space, Maker Factory, and Creativity Gallery. They expressed full recognition and high praise for the laboratory's developmental progress and scientific innovation achievements since its establishment, as well as the distinctive characteristics and outstanding accomplishments of the university's innovation and entrepreneurship education system.
