2024-08-06

Embracing the Party wholeheartedly, our children grow up happily. On August 2, the 2024 Faculty and Staff Children’s Summer Camp concluded successfully amidst joy and laughter. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, led the camp organizing committee members in visiting various training sessions, viewing the students' final presentations, and awarding certificates of completion to the participants.

To effectively address the concerns of faculty and staff, enrich the summer experience for their children, and ensure the children have a fulfilling and enjoyable summer vacation, the university, under the care and guidance of the CPC HUTB Committee, organized this summer camp from July 10 to August 2. Over 200 young participants took part in the event. The four-week summer camp curriculum was carefully designed with the children’s interests and developmental needs in mind. It included eight activities: table tennis, basketball, fitness, tennis, martial arts, singing, calligraphy, and painting. Additionally, 12 classes were organized according to the children’s age groups to ensure high teaching quality and a great learning experience. The summer camp also organized group movie screenings and educational activities such as visits to the Hunan Museum of Geology. These experiences allowed the children to strengthen their will through challenges, learn and grow in a joyful atmosphere, and enjoy a memorable summer. They learned teamwork and perseverance, and gained joy and confidence.

Thanks to all the staff who worked hard for this summer camp. From preparing materials and ensuring safety to planning and refining every detail in advance, their meticulous efforts ensured the smooth execution of all camp activities.

This summer camp was provided with a teaching and management team consisting of over 50 teachers and more than 40 students, ensuring the teaching quality and management efficiency of the summer camp. The School of Physical Education and Health, Design & Art Institute, and School of Music sent outstanding teachers and university students as head coaches and assistants. They developed and effectively implemented teaching plans for each activity, balancing strictness with care for the children. This approach received high praise from the kids and fostered strong teacher-student relationships. The university's Care-for-Next-Generation Work Committee organized a supervision and assessment team to monitor each project's progress daily, with daily reports and weekly summaries, which effectively advanced the activities. The Labour Union played a crucial role as a bridge and link, ensuring that all support work was coordinated and timely.

The organizing committee stated that summer camps will be held regularly every summer vacation in the future. They will continuously review experiences to improve activity quality, implementing the CPC HUTB Committee's care and concern for faculty and staff in a concrete manner, aiming to enhance their sense of belonging, fulfillment, and happiness.
