2024-06-05
From May 31 to June 2, the "Endless Joy of Raku·Print on Ceramics" ceramic art experience, part of the "Towards 2035: Integrating Creativity and Future" Technology and Culture Expo and the 2nd Science and Technology Festival series, was held at Lingnan Ceramic Art Bar with engaging activities. The event, organized by the Labour Union and the School of Art & Design, guided participants on an immersive journey into traditional culture and the joys of handmade crafts.
During the event, the Ceramic Art Bar was bustling both inside and out, with students eagerly anticipating the experience with curiosity and enthusiasm. Under the guidance of instructors, they picked up brushes and freely painted colorful lines and patterns on white ceramic blanks, showcasing their creativity and imagination. The atmosphere was joyful, and participants not only enjoyed the pleasure of ceramic art creation but also experienced the rich heritage of traditional culture.
The highlight of the entire event was the kiln firing stage. As the kiln was ignited, participants carefully placed their creations inside, waiting for them to transform in the intense heat. As the flames rose and the temperature climbed, the kiln filled with the distinctive aroma of clay. When the kiln door slowly opened, each ceramic piece made a stunning appearance. Everyone gathered around excitedly, their faces beaming with pride and joy.
The School of Art & Design will organize more diverse and vibrant cultural and artistic activities, providing a broader platform for artistic exchange and practice for faculty and students, and contributing to the thriving development of campus culture and arts.
