In-Class Anti-Fraud Education

2025-03-19

Recently, police officers from Dazehu Police Station hosted in-class anti-fraud education at HUTB.

During their lecture, the anti-fraud officers, drawing on the characteristics of university students and common fraud types, delivered an in-depth yet accessible analysis of the severe situation of telecom fraud nowadays combining their rich practical experience. Using real-life cases and plain language, they taught the students how to identify fraud through a detailed analysis of the operational processes and deceptive tactics employed in various fraud schemes. They particularly emphasized the critical importance of protecting personal information, and guided students to download and install the National Anti-Fraud Center App with real-time warning functions to build a robust anti-fraud "firewall".

This month-long initiative of in-class anti-fraud education, featuring weekly anti-fraud lectures, is part of the university’s 2025 special campaign to prevent and combat telecom and cyber fraud. Anti-fraud police officers have conducted 76 in-class sessions that engaged over 10,000 students with vivid presentations, which received widespread acclaim and high recognition from both faculty and students. Going forward, the university will continue to strengthen cooperation with the police to further advance in-depth educational initiatives to prevent telecom and cyber fraud. These efforts aim to instill anti-fraud knowledge into public consciousness, enhance the faculty and students’ capacity to identify and counter fraud, so as to prevent fraudulent activities from the very beginning.

The university also aims to build a "safer campus" at higher standards, deepen campus-wide anti-fraud efforts, implement normalized anti-fraud education mechanisms, improve the faculty and students’ immunity against fraud, and ultimately achieve a "fraud-free campus".
