High-End Forum on High-Quality Development of Cultural and Language Services in Hunan’s Economic and Trade Industries Held at HUTB

To promote the deep integration of the economic and trade industries with language services in the Hunan Province and enhance the international competitiveness of the regional economy, the High-End Forum on the High-Quality Development of Cultural and Language Services in Hunan’s Economic and Trade Industries was held on October 19. The forum was hosted by our university and organized by the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Industrial Culture Communication and Popularization Base and the School of Foreign Languages of our university. At the forum, several prominent guests from academia and industry were invited to discuss the development trends and cooperation opportunities of integrating economic and trade industries with cultural and language services.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university. She emphasized the important role of language services in promoting the development of the economic and trade industries and expressed the hope that the forum would provide a platform for communication and collaboration between the economic and trade industries and the language services sector in Hunan.
During the keynote speech session, Professor Yao Guimei from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences took "China-Africa Mining Cooperation" as an example to explore the current situation and challenges of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, and proposed practical and feasible countermeasures. Professor Zhang Falian from China University of Political Science and Law delivered a keynote speech titled "Improving National Legal Translation Capabilities and Telling A Good Story of China's Rule of Law," presenting specific measures for enhancing the country’s legal translation abilities. Professor Feng Jieyun from the University of International Business and Economics discussed "Cultural Heritage Tourism and International Communication," examining how cultural heritage tourism can promote international cultural exchange and communication. Xu Xiangping, President of China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, shared practical experiences in advancing China-Africa economic and trade cooperation through project initiatives from the perspective of industry associations and proposed measures to strengthen project implementation. Professor Xiao Hao from Hunan University reviewed the history of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and offered insights into the future of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
Vice President Zhang Ling expressed her gratitude for the excellent speeches by the guests and emphasized the significant role of the forum in promoting the integrated development of the economic and trade industries and language services in Hunan. She stated that the highlight of this forum lies in its in-depth, interdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral discussions. The experts not only approached the topic from the perspectives of economics and trade but also incorporated multiple dimensions such as law, culture, and tourism, providing a comprehensive view and profound insights into China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. The university will actively promote communication and collaboration between academia and industry to jointly drive the economic development of Hunan.
