HUTB Awarded Among 2024 "Top Ten Institutions" for China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion

On February 11, the China-Africa Investment and Economic Cooperation Exchange Meeting on Building a Sustainable Future Together was held in Changsha. Xiao Bailing, Vice Chairwoman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Khamis Mussa Omar, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to China, attended the meeting. Professor Wang Ren, Director of HUTB Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, led a delegation to attend the meeting, where he represented the university to receive the 2024 "Top Ten Institutions" Award for China-Africa economic and trade promotion - a highlight of the university’s outstanding contributions in serving China-Africa cooperation.

The meeting commenced with remarks by Liu Delin, Director of the Port Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province, and Khamis Mussa Omar, Tanzanian Ambassador to China. Afterwards, guest speakers including Xu Xiangping, former Counselor of the People's Government of Hunan Province and President of China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, delivered keynote speeches calling for deepening cooperation in multiple fields. The meeting facilitated the materialization of China-Africa cooperation projects in healthcare, electrical engineering, and energy sectors through activities such as project signing and unveiling ceremony. During the award ceremony, HUTB was distinguished with the "Top Ten Institutions" honor outperforming numerous competing institutions for its outstanding achievements in Africa-focused think tank development, university-industry collaboration, and talent cultivation.
