Professor Li Huan Awarded the Title of 2024 Hunan Province "Most Beautiful Volunteer"

On March 5, the list of 2024 Hunan Province Volunteer Service Advanced Models was officially announced at the "Learning from Lei Feng" Volunteer Service Advanced Models publicity event organized by the Social Work Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. Professor Li Huan from the School of Resources and Environment was awarded the title of "Most Beautiful Volunteer".

Professor Li Huan, a full-time faculty member at the School of Resources and Environment, has been engaged in volunteer services since 2003. In June 2016, she initiated the establishment of the Hunan Province "Green Guardians Ecological Environment" Volunteer Service Elite Education Team, which was selected as one of the provincial top ten volunteer service initiatives under the "Benefiting Society with Love - I Serve the Public" program. The initiative has received prioritized promotion and benefited tens of thousands of people. In 2021, she guided the establishment of the Green Guardians "Intelligent Carbon Pioneers" Youth Volunteer Service Team. In 2024, she compiled a comprehensive community-focused eco-education toolkit, benefiting over 50,000 people. Professor Li has been recognized as a "National Eco-Civilization Education Innovation Pioneer" and named among "Top Ten Green Guardians of Hunan Province". Her volunteer service project "Green Youth in Action, Volunteer Together" has been extensively covered by mainstream media outlets like Hunan Today and Huasheng Online (Voc.com.cn).

In recent years, under the strong leadership of the CPC HUTB Committee, the School of Resources and Environment has conscientiously implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization based on its disciplinary strengths, and established a faculty-student education group for promoting Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. The education group, where Professor Li Huan is one of the outstanding representatives, has carried out various forms of ecological volunteer service education activities in communities and primary and middle schools. Going forward, the school will continue to organize various forms of education activities and strive to make new contributions to the study, promotion, and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.
