Renowned German Enterprise Management Expert Prof. Luccarda Visits HUTB for Exchange

On the morning of April 15, Academician Chen Xiaohong of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and met with Prof. Luccarda, a renowned German enterprise management expert and professor in Economics of International Higher Education at Pecaso[A1] , and appointed him as a guest professor at HUTB. The meeting was attended by Zhu Zhenghua, member of the Education Work Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and member of the CPC Leading Group of the Department of Education of Hunan Province, Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, and Mo Xiangyi, member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB. Relevant department heads of HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory were also present. The cooperation and exchange meeting was held in Conference Room 1210 of the Xiangjiang Building.


Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a welcome speech, introduced the strengths of HUTB and innovative achievements of Xiangjiang Laboratory. She mentioned that as a university with exemplary innovation and entrepreneurship practices at the national level, HUTB has yielded fruitful results in domains such as the digital economy, smart manufacturing, and modern services. Chen Xiaohong stated that the university will collaborate with Xiangjiang Laboratory—a major sci-tech initiative deployed by Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, jointly promoting the profound application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in scenarios like medical treatment and engineering management. She also highlighted that Prof. Luccarda’s hands-on experience in smart manufacturing and R&D of medical products aligns closely with HUTB’s educational philosophy that emphasizes the integration of “New Engineering + New Business + New Medicine + New Liberal Arts” and science. Chen Xiaohong hoped enhanced cooperation between the two sides can facilitate the high-quality development of HUTB.

Prof. Luccarda and Vice President Mo Xiangyi signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides in the presence of Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Zhu Zhenghua, member of the Education Work Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and member of the CPC Leading Group of the Department of Education of Hunan Province.

Academician Chen Xiaohong presented an appointment certificate to Prof. Luccarda. Prof. Luccarda indicated that he would actively engage in the university’s talent cultivation, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and university-industry collaboration in research, contributing to the construction of “double-qualified teachers” faculty team of HUTB.

On the afternoon of April 15, Prof. Luccarda exchanged with representatives from HUTB, Xiangjiang Laboratory, and several secondary schools in Conference Room 702 of No.2 Office Building. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zhang Ling, and attended by leaders of the Scientific Research Administration Division, the Graduate School, and relevant secondary schools. Speakers from different schools respectively gave detailed introductions to their schools’ disciplinary features, research directions and cooperation demands. They had thorough exchanges with Prof. Luccarda on AI and smart manufacturing, and a trans-disciplinary dialogue revolving around “industrial upgrading empowered by digital intelligence”. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic, with fruitful results produced through exchanges.

On the morning of April 16, Prof. Luccarda gave a lecture with the theme of “Production · Management · Different Organizational Styles” at the Zhizhi Lecture Hall in Xiangjiang Building. Leaders of relevant secondary schools, as well as representatives of students and faculty members, attended the lecture. They engaged in in-depth discussions on relevant topics with Prof. Luccarda.
HUTB will leverage Prof. Luccarda’s visit to closely align with Hunan’s strategic positioning of “Three Highlands, Four New Missions”. Supported by Xiangjiang Laboratory, a high-caliber sci-tech innovation platform, the university will be deeply integrated into the “4 + 4 Science and Technology Innovation Project” launched by Hunan Province, and accelerate its educational transformation from theoretical to practical ways. In this case, HUTB will contribute wisdom and strength to transforming Changsha into a global R&D center, and realizing Hunan’s blueprint of “Three Highlands, Four New Missions”.
