From July 4 to 18, the 2025 Hunan Province "Digital Economy and Digital Intelligent Governance" Graduate Summer School, organized by the Department of Education of Huan Province and co-hosted by the Graduate School and the School of Public Administration and Human Geography (MPA Center) of HUTB, was held. This 15-day summer school adopted a combined "online + offline" model, bringing together academic authorities and industry elites to create a knowledge feast in the digital field for over 100 faculty and students from nearly 20 universities across the country. It served as a high-quality platform for broadening academic horizons and colliding academic ideas.

During the offline phase from July 4 to 6, participants gathered at HUTB, and the opening ceremony was held on the morning of July 5. At the opening ceremony, Liu Guoquan, Director of the Academic Committee of HUTB and Executive Deputy Director of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, stated in his speech that digital literacy is crucial for the growth of graduate students and the modernization of national governance. He emphasized that academic exploration in the digital era requires interdisciplinary integration and the relay of youth power, and encouraged participants to "touch the forefront and serve society." Liu Mengqing, Second-Level Investigator from the Degree Management and Graduate Education Office of the Department of Education of Hunan Province, representing the organizing unit, fully affirmed the significance of this summer school for regional digital economy development. He expressed hope that participants would cherish the exchange opportunity and deepen the integration of theory and practice.

He Tianxiang, Executive Dean of the School of Public Administration and Human Geography, introduced the disciplinary characteristics, the philosophy of integrating research and education, and the specific arrangements of the summer school at the School of Public Administration and Human Geography (MPA Center).

After the ceremony, offline thematic reports were delivered in succession. This summer school invited experts and scholars from renowned universities, research institutions, and industries such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Nanjing University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xiamen University, Tongji University, Central South University, and HUTB to deliver 24 high-quality thematic reports, constructing a curriculum system that deeply integrates theory and practice.

From July 7 to 15, online courses were successively advanced, focusing on diverse areas of the digital economy and governance. The courses covered cutting-edge topics such as experience sharing from the China Graduate Public Administration Case Competition, the construction of digital technology-driven social governance communities, new developments in trade in the digital economy era, and AI reshaping e-commerce, systematically outlining the diverse landscape of the digital economy and digital intelligent governance.

On July 17, the summer school innovatively adopted a training model of "thematic reports + group discussions + achievement sharing" to promote participants' practical transition from "listening" to "doing." Participants engaged in group discussions on online platforms around directions such as digital governance practices, smart cultural tourism, and data governance, leading to in-depth intellectual collisions with experts and scholars. At the research achievement sharing session, participants actively presented their research findings. The expert review panel provided precise guidance from dimensions such as research methods and innovation exploration, offering constructive suggestions to help participants refine their research.

On July 18, the graduation ceremony of the summer school was held online. Peng Xuewen, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Public Administration and Human Geography at HUTB, delivered the closing address.
