Xiangjiang Laboratory, HUTB, and Ningxiang Municipal People's Government Hold Exchange Symposium

On the morning of September 12, the exchange symposium between Xiangjiang Laboratory, HUTB, and the Ningxiang Municipal People's Government is held in the Zhiyuan Lecture Hall of Xiangjiang Building. Mandated by Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Hou Junjun, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, meets with the delegation led by Song Qiang, Member of the CPC Leading Group and Vice Mayor of Ningxiang Municipal People's Government. Heads of relevant departments from Xiangjiang Laboratory, along with responsible persons from relevant units of the Ningxiang Municipal People's Government and representatives from local enterprises, attend the meeting.
Deputy Director Hou Junjun extends a warm welcome to Vice Mayor Song Qiang and the delegation for their visit and investigation. He also expresses heartfelt congratulations on the recent agreement reached among Xiangjiang Laboratory, HUTB, and Hunan Xingyuan Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly establish the country's first "Digital Intelligent Unmanned Retail Innovation Research Institute." He explains that Xiangjiang Laboratory, as one of Hunan's four major laboratories and the first to be inaugurated, is a significant innovation platform established to strengthen the province's computing power support. It has successively partnered with Yueyang City, Xiangtan City, and the Xiangjiang New Area to establish regional innovation centers. The laboratory has released 24 innovative products to the public, with continuous iterations and upgrades. As the sole or primary patent holder, it has been granted over 160 national invention patents and was selected as one of Hunan Province's first batch of scientific research institution intellectual property centers. He expresses the hope to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with the Ningxiang Municipal People's Government and local enterprises. This aims to inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of Ningxiang's industries and contribute wisdom and strength to the economic and social prosperity of both the nation and the region.
Vice Mayor Song Qiang expresses sincere gratitude for the warm reception extended by Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB. He introduces that Ningxiang is an industrially strong city in Hunan Province, hosting five enterprises each with an output value exceeding RMB10 billion. The city has formed industrial clusters led by advanced energy storage materials and construction machinery. In 2024, the city's GDP reached RMB141.623 billion. He states that under the leadership of Academician Chen Xiaohong, Xiangjiang Laboratory, over its three years since establishment, has consistently focused on the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced computing. With a high-end orientation and clear direction, it has achieved abundant results, delivering outstanding innovative outcomes and developmental progress. Recently, the initial collaborative achievements of Xiangjiang Laboratory, HUTB, and Hunan Xingyuan Technology Co., Ltd. have been successfully selected as signed projects for the 2025 Changsha "Xiangzhi Xingxiang" special event. He expresses the hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Xiangjiang Laboratory. This aims to assist Ningxiang in identifying precise industrial development directions, seizing the high ground in industrial development, promoting the high-quality growth of Ningxiang's industries, and facilitating the digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading of local enterprises. The goal is to make greater contributions towards realizing the blueprint for "Three Highlands, Four New Missions."
The participants engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions focusing on areas such as the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and government-industry-education-research cooperation, reaching a consensus on further deepening collaboration.
Prior to the meeting, the attending leaders conduct an on-site inspection of Xiangjiang Laboratory's Sci-Tech Innovation Base and several technological innovation platforms. They also tour the teaching and learning facilities at HUTB, speaking highly of the innovative achievements made by the laboratory and the educational accomplishments attained by the university.
