Professor from Chinese Culture University Visits HUTB for Exchange

On November 24, Song Ping, Deputy Director of the International Office of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province, Professor Cai Jialin from the Chinese Culture University (PCCU), and Ye Yawei, Deputy Director of the Department of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation, visited our university for an exchange. The exchange meeting was held at the Lingnan Innovation Center.

At the meeting, Xu Shu, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, warmly welcomed the leaders and experts from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province and PCCU, and introduced the rapid development of our university under the strong leadership of the CPC HUTB Committee, as well as an overview of international exchange and cooperation. Wang Peiliang, Deputy Dean of the School of Digital Media Engineering and Humanities, introduced the historical origins between Hunan and Taiwan. He mentioned that throughout history, people from Hunan have made great contributions to the development and construction of Taiwan, laying an important foundation for cultural exchange and integration between the two regions. Chen Wang, Deputy Dean of the School of Art & Design, shared the craftsmanship and cultural connotations of the Liling underglaze five-colored porcelain. Through displaying exquisite pictures and physical objects of Liling underglaze five-colored porcelain, the visiting delegation was able to experience the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional techniques and the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage.

Professor Cai Jialin from PCCU introduced the history, disciplinary construction, talent cultivation model, and achievements of PCCU. He hoped that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to enhance understanding, expand consensus, create opportunities, and provide more chances for interaction and communication between young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. He expressed that this exchange deepened their understanding of Hunan and HUTB, and filled them with anticipation for future exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Taiwan. The visiting delegation greatly appreciated the in-depth research conducted by HUTB professors in the fields of history, humanities, and innovation.

Finally, Song Ping, Deputy Director of the International Office of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province, made a concluding statement. She expressed that cross-strait exchanges have achieved remarkable results and hoped that in the future, both sides of the Taiwan Strait can strengthen cooperation in academic research, talent cultivation, and cultural exchanges, and work together to promote the inheritance and innovative development of Chinese culture.

PCCU is located on Yang Ming Mountain, Shilin District, Taipei City, Taiwan Province, China. It was founded in 1962 and currently has 12 colleges, 65 departments, and 10 PhD programs. With the aim of promoting Chinese culture and academia, it is a private comprehensive university in Taiwan with the largest collection of physical books.
