HUTB Successfully Held CPR+AED Skill Training for 2023 Freshmen

2023-11-30

In order to actively create a "Happy HUTB", and comprehensively improve students' knowledge and skills in emergency rescue, self-help and mutual aid, the Student Affairs Division recently organized comprehensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)+AED skill training for the 2023 freshmen. The training program consists of online theoretical learning and offline skill practice. The online training covers all freshmen, while the offline training is primarily targeted at more than 2,350 student leaders conducted by volunteers from the Furong Blue Sky Rescue Team.

Through online theoretical training, students were able to independently learn CPR training courses and gain an in-depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge of CPR and automatic external defibrillators (AED). This not only instilled the concept of "life education, scientific rescue, and safety rescue" in the hearts of students but also laid a solid foundation for subsequent practical skill training.

In the offline skill training section, volunteers from the Furong Blue Sky Rescue Team delivered clear and concise explanations, focusing on the "golden 4 minutes" of emergency rescue, the procedures for performing CPR, the steps for operating an AED, and important precautions to be taken during its use. During the training, students had hands-on practice and received one-on-one guidance from the volunteers. The atmosphere on-site was enthusiastic, and the training had a positive outcome.

Conducting first aid training is an important measure and effective method to reduce the severity of accidental injuries and save lives. Since last year, our university has been organizing regular emergency first aid training, which has not only equipped students with the correct first aid methods and enhanced their emergency response capabilities but also allowed them to gain a deep understanding of the significance of "everyone learning first aid, first aid for everyone". This initiative empowers students to protect lives and become ambassadors for spreading the knowledge of first aid. (Reported by Guo Yuyang and Li Yigui from Student Affairs Division)
