Recently, the university's top-level faculty football team played a star-studded match against the student all-star football team. Representatives from the School of Physical Education and Health participated in the event.
The university's top-level faculty football team is composed of members from the Labour Union's football association. The all-star football team is made up of outstanding athletes selected from the representative teams of various schools that participated in the university's 12th Football Tournament.
Before the match began, Kuang Yumei, CPC Committee Secretary of the School of Physical Education and Health, reviewed the situation of both teams and their players and commended the organization of the star match.
The all-star match was divided into three periods, each lasting 35 minutes. In the 10th minute of the first period, Liu Zhiyu from the School of Physical Education and Health scored through a stunning world ball directly into the top corner of the net from the outside of the penalty area, putting the all-star team ahead with the first point. The faculty team then leveled the score, drawing on their rich experience and cohesive teamplay. Before the end of the first period, the faculty team earned a free kick in the midfield. After delivering the ball into the penalty area, they took advantage of the ensuing scramble in front of the goal to score from close range, bringing the score to 2:1.
In the second period, the all-star team launched a fierce attack right from the start. In less than 5 minutes, they scored with a long-range shot from the outside of the penalty area, leveling the score once again and making the match even more intense. Ten minutes later, the all-star team executed a simple combination on the wing, using their speed to break down the flank and cross the ball in front of the goal, where a teammate scored into the open net. The experienced faculty team quickly responded, launching a perfect counterattack and leveling the score once more at 3:3!
In the final period, the faculty team used their experience and technical advantage to score twice within 10 minutes, once with a header and once with a long-range shot, bringing the score to 5:3. Trailing by two goals, the all-star team displayed remarkable determination and unity. The faculty team's defense was quickly breached, and the all-star team seized the opportunity with a steal in the attacking third, converting a one-on-one chance into a goal. With high spirits, the all-star team unleashed their full offensive power, with waves of attacks coming one after another, but they narrowly missed scoring. Until the last minute of the game, Jia Shuaitao from the School of Business Administration made a series of impressive dribbles down the wing and delivered a cross. Chen Haodong from the School of Science scored with a powerful header into the bottom corner, leveling the score at 5:5!
At this point, the 2024 HUTB Football Series Competition concluded successfully. Throughout the series, the athletes displayed dedication and courage, working together with unity and cooperation, creating many memorable and exciting moments.
