School of Mathematics & Statistics Holds Special Meeting to Study Third Volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China

On the afternoon of September 12, the Theoretical Learning Center Group of the School of Mathematics & Statistics held a special meeting in Room A928 of the Economic Management Complex to study the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China. All members of the Party Committee and secretaries of Party Branches of the school attended the seminar.

Yang Gang, Party Secretary-General of the school profoundly explained the significance of strengthening Party building and creating the new normal of strict Party management from the five aspects, namely, “the background, historical evolution, main connotation, realization path and realization path of strict Party governance. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has emphasized and expounded on many occasions the policy of strict Party governance. Mr. Yang added that General Secretary Xi has made efforts to remove long-standing malpractices and to foster healthy trends and has finally brought about a new outlook on Party building, Party conduct, and government work. Mr. Yang said that the main leaders of the Party committee should be more aware of their main responsibility and work to prioritize party building. He required that the leaders of the Party Committee should well undertake the responsibility of strict Party building, stick to planning, arranging and evaluating Party building and the work of the Theoretical Learning Center as a whole. He urged that the leaders of the Party Committee should take the thorough, meticulous and strict Party building as the new normal in their work.

Dean Xie Xiaoliang led the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s article Always Put the People in the Highest Position in the Heart, and deeply interpreted General Secretary Xi’s governance thought of “People First”. Mr. Xie indicated that the basic principle of “People First” running through Xi Jinping: The Governance of Chinafully demonstrates the adherence to the people-centered philosophy in the new era and the fundamental standpoint of developing socialism with Chinese characteristics. He also mentioned that General Secretary Xi Jinping always thinks for all the people except himself. Mr. Xie added that such “selflessness” is the responsibility of a leader of a major power for the people and that Xi has set a glorious example for the whole Party.

Other members of the Party committee and secretaries of Party branches made speeches successively. These Party cadres and members held that studying the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of Chinais a powerful measure to learn and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; the Party cadres and members believed that this activity is also an important opportunity for them to enhance their learning, research and practice skills. They noted that they will consciously integrate the perspectives and methods into teaching and research work and adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Erato make due contributions to guiding and promoting the school’s continuous, in-depth development.
