School of Art & Design Holds Series Theme Activities for Graduation Season

On June 18, the School of Art & Design held a series of theme activities for the 2020 graduation season, including the special job fair, the online and offline exhibition of graduation works, and the cloud graduation evening party. This graduation season was themed with “A Different Graduation Season for Different Graduates”, and a special graduation ceremony was presented to graduates.
In the afternoon, anexhibition ofgraduation worksfrom2020 graduates was officially opened at the Creativity Gallery. The attendees included Vice President Liu Guoquan, directors of the Academic Affairs Division, the Student Affairs Division, the Entrepreneurship Education and Practice Teaching Center, and the School of Art & Design and other departments as well as some students.
At the opening ceremony, Dean Wu Can gave an opening speech. He expressed that despite the different exhibition arrangement this time, the belief in pursuing perfection with no regrets remained the same. He said, “Now, we are viewing the cloud exhibition on the screen at different places, but we have the same target to strive for; tomorrow, we will leave our alma mater for different destinations, yet with the same nostalgia and expectation. I hope you can take this graduation worksexhibition as a new start for a new glorious life.” A student named Li Yu made a speech on behalf of the graduates, expressing her feelings about the four-year university life, her blessings to the teachers and HUTB. Her speech conveyed the 2020 graduates’ determination and confidence to treasure what they had learned in HUTB, to bravely shoulder the important responsibilities under all circumstances, and to keep young and regretless.
Vice President Liu Guoquan announced the official opening of the exhibition and delivered a sincere speech to the graduates. He stated, “I hope you can live up to your youth and become qualified talents of the new era; I hope you can remain passionate forever and become outstanding designers of the new era; I hope you can smoothly graduate from HUTB and keep confident forever.
Due to the epidemic impact, the 2020 graduation worksexhibition consists of two parts: the offline exhibition and the VR cloud show, providing graduates with more possibilities for worksdisplay and exhibition viewing. In the exhibition, all graduates’ works were presented in VR through the online exhibition hall of the Creativity Gallery, offering different experience in viewing cloud exhibitions. The smooth opening of the graduation worksexhibition also marked the start of the 2020 cloud graduation activities of the School of Art & Design. Then, teachers and classmates watched the livestreamed offline graduation exhibition and on-site job fair hosted by a student host. Through the livestreaming, they experienced the warm atmosphere of the graduation seasonactivities held on the site.
To offer graduates more job opportunities, after the graduates returned to school, the School held an offline job fair with the participation of 41 directly related companies. The graduates actively attended the job fair and gave thumbs up to the School and the companies. At 5 pm, the 2020 Cloud Graduation Evening Party of the School of Art & Design formally kicked off. This evening partywas livestreamed online and shown directly at Huiyuan Campus, Creativity Gallery and other places of the School. At the wonderful evening party, teachers and students presented awesome programs, business representatives and schoolfellows extended their blessings, on-site participants made remote communications with graduates watching online, and teachers and students interacted online through lucky draws.
