The International Exchange and Cooperation Office Held a Lecture on AIDS Prevention and Drug Control Education for Foreign Students

On the afternoon of October 14, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office invited Liu Jiabin, Ph.D. of XiangYa School of Medicine of Central South University, and Lu Ting, a police officer of the drug control detachment of the Changsha Public Security Bureau, to come to our university to carry out STD/AIDS prevention and drug control publicity and education for all foreign students in our university. The lecture was held in the 301 Lecture Hall of the second office building, and was presided over by Xu Shu, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.

In the lecture, Dr. Liu introduced various common intestinal infectious diseases, allergies and sexually transmitted diseases, especially did a detailed explanation on the basic situation of AIDS, the route of transmission and how to prevent AIDS and other related knowledge for foreign students. Officer Lu made a specific interpretation for foreign students on the types and harm of drugs, the consequences of taking drugs, the relevant laws and regulations on drug control in China, and how to stay away from drugs. All the foreign students listened to the lecture carefully, learned relevant knowledge and actively asked questions, and interacted with the two lecture guests.

The smooth development of this education lecture has enabled foreign students in our school to have a better cognition and understanding of AIDS and drugs, and improved their ideology and awareness of preventing AIDS and staying away from drugs, which laid a solid foundation for foreign students to study safely and live a healthy life in our school.
