School of Finance Held the 7th Financial Cultural Festival

Financial New Culture Shines in Prosperous Age, We Gather Here in the Most Passionate May. On the evening of May 12, the School of Finance 7th Financial Cultural Festival Opening Ceremony and Counting Contest was held solemnly in the College Students’ Activity Center of South Campus. Liu Saihong, the Secretary of CPC General Branch of School of Finance; Gao Junjie, the Deputy Secretary of CPC General Branch; the vice-dean Cao Qiuju, some teachers and nearly 200 students attended this event.

Before the official start of the event, the School of Finance 2015-grade students brought the group dancing Jasmine Flower and chorus Looked at Stars. The beautiful and elegant dance and warm and moving song received much applause from the audiences.

The Secretary Liu Saihong made a speech on behalf of the school. She said, finance is the core of modern economy. To realize the renaissance of world power from the current second largest economy, China shall develop from the industrial power to the financial power. The fundamental, strategic and decisive role of talent in China’s financial development will be more prominent in the current period and a long time in the future. I hope all graduates can take the opportunity of the Financial Cultural Festival, study seriously, practice diligently, make persistent efforts, climb to a new peak, and develop youselves into the excellent financial talents required by the state.

Then, Counting Contest started officially, and more than 80 students participated in the contest which consists of the preliminary contest, intermediary contest and final contest. The participant who counted the most money with most accurate amount within 80 seconds was the winner. The preliminary contest uses the practice banknote with the amount of 100 yuan, and the intermediary contest uses the practice banknote with different amounts. The final contest is more difficult. The participant shall answer various questions asked by the host when counting the practice banknote with the amount of 100 yuan. After the intense contest, Luo Ziying from Investment Class 1401 won the first award, Zhu Can from Finance Class 1504 won the second award, Huang Yilun from Finance Class 1504 won the third award, and Cao Yemei from Finance Class 1504 won the excellence award. Teacher Zhang, the Secretary of CYL Committee School Sub-branch, issued the Certificate of Honor to the winners.

It was learned that this Financial Cultural Festival covered the sections of Counting Contest, Financial and Derivative Knowledge Contest, Financial Theme Lecture, Simulated Stock Trading Contest, Investment & Financing Contest and Art Show, etc. The Financial Cultural Festival highlighted the features of the subject and specialty, enriched the students’ campus life, provided students with the platform of self-display, enhanced the students’ aesthetic and humanistic quality, enabled students to grow up and make success in the campus life.
