Public Umbrellas to Bring Teachers and Students Convenience

2016-06-20

A public service for umbrellas, sponsored by our university’s Psychological Health Education Center, organized by Psychological Health Education Association (hereinafter referred to as "PHEA"), officially began on Yingcai Square on March 29th.

The activity was themed with "I send you home in rain, you return me to school with trust”, aiming to release teachers’ and students’ worries in rainy days in case they haven’t taken umbrella with them. It is also hoped that this activity could promote the delivery of care among students, advocate integrity and harvest a good mood.

Changsha has a changeable weather. Whatever the season is, it often rains in a sudden. For the group of students trapped and at loss in the hall of the teaching building, there are only two choices: to walk into the rain with no umbrella or wait for classmates to save them. “We provide umbrellas for them, and raining days will become lovely”, said proudly Zhou Lianqin, director of PHEA.

It is reported that materials are very adequately prepared in this activity. An umbrella stand  is respectively set up in Building Lezhi, Building Rixin, and Building Zhicheng, each stand equipped with 20 umbrellas which bear clearly the name and number of the teaching building in order to check the return.

In order to serve the students better, secretaries of Public Relations Section of PHEA will check the return of umbrellas on Wednesday and Sunday of every single week while secretaries of Quality Promotion Section of PHEA will be responsible for this task on the same two days of every double week. In order to ensure a timely return of borrowed umbrellas, the result will be fed back to Network Marketing Section of PHEA before 19:00 on right that day.

Just as roses sent always leave fragrance in the sender’s hands, so an umbrella sent means warmth gained. Public service could be small but can also be great. An umbrella could keep you away from rain and bring you warmth. A little help can move and touch the heart; a small umbrella could bring people unlimited convenience. (Liu Jin)
