Meeting for Convention and Exhibition Education in Hunan and Chongqing Held; First Hunan Convention and Exhibition Education Achievement Exhibited

The Meeting for Convention and Exhibition Education in Hunan and Chongqing as well the First Exhibition of Hunan Convention and Exhibition Education Achievements was held in the academic hall in Lingnan campus on March 22 afternoon.
Former first-level supervisor of Hunan University of Commerce, Li Zehua, deputy director of Teaching Affairs Division Zhang Hong, deputy dean of School of Tourism Management Qin Zhiyong, deputy director of Changsha Exhibition Office Peng Youqiu, Hunan Education Science Research Institute Sheng Zhengfa, chairman Rong Liping and secretary-general Li Weizhi of Convention and Exhibition Association of Hunan Province made speeches in turn on the development of convention and exhibition industry and education. They spoke highly of the achievement made by Department of Convention and Exhibition Management of our university.
Zhou Jianhua, director of Convention and Exhibition Department, Chongqing Academy of Arts and Science, Ren Wenlan, director of Convention and Exhibition Department, Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Xu Mingyong, director of Convention and Exhibition Department, Changsha Commerce and Tourism School, Wang Peiliang, director of Convention and Exhibition Department, Hunan University of Commerce reported on their respective developments, features, advantages, hardships and reflections of convention and exhibition education.
Deputy general manager Yang Guohui of the operating company, general manager Zhou Gang of the operating and managing company for Hunan International Convention and Exhibition Center, curator Zhao Zuoyin of Hunan Exhibition Hall, chairman assistant Xu Kaiyi of Hunan Hualu Group, Luo Wen from Changsha Shijifeng Culture Communication Company, general manager Jiang Jiuliang of Changsha Zhidian Convention and Exhibition Company, general manager Zhang Hegang of Changsha Daolinliujue Hall, general manager Cheng Qinghua of Changsha Lanfuhuachen Company, Li Jian from North Chungcheong Province of South Korea stationing in Hunan Province, all these industry elites introduced the respective features and advantages of their convention and exhibition projects, as well as their demand and support for convention and exhibition talents from institutes of high learning.
Professor Wang Peiliang, as the director of Department of Convention and Exhibition Management, Hunan University of Commerce, is responsible for the proposal, organization, planning, preparation and implementation of this event in which both teachers and students participate, realizing full integration of various resources from universities, governments, associations, enterprises, media and the rest , providing a concrete, vivid and complete case for courses like "Exhibition Planning" and "Exhibition Project Management". This is not only a teaching innovation in Department of Convention and Exhibition Management but also serves as a research result of Professor Wang’s Project “Employability Cultivation of Convention and Exhibition Majors in Hunan Universities”, which belongs to College Students Employment and Entrepreneurship Special Research Projects of 2014 Hunan 12th 5 -year Plan
Like a parade of Hunan convention and exhibition, this event displays teachers’ and students’ spirits as well as the education achievements in an all-round way. Media such as Hunan Education Channel, Hunan Morning Paper, Sanxiang City Express, Rednet, and Hunan Education Network have reported the event.
