Hunan University of Commerce: The University and the Enterprises Cooperate to Train Entrepreneurial Talents

On September 24th and 25th, the opening ceremony of Seentao Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cultural Festival and the final competition of the 11th National College “Yonyou Seentao Cup” Sandbox Simulation Management was held at Hunan University of Commerce. This activity was hosted by the Branch of Economic and Financial Education, the Association of China Higher Education, organized by Hunan University of Commerce and co-organized by Seentao Technology Company Ltd, which gave full technological guidance in the whole course.
President of Hunan University of Commerce Chen Xiaohong, Vice President Liu-Guoquan, Director of Provincial Higher Education Department Tang Libin and the General Manager of the Hunan Branch Office of Seentao Technology Company Ltd attended the ceremony and addressed.
After the opening ceremony, the nineteen teams，coming from such colleges and universities as Hunan University and Hunan University of Commerce, etc，put themselves into the tight and heated competition of simulation management of the enterprises. The Sandbox Simulation Management of the enterprises changes into a series of rules the internal and external environments in which the enterprises exist. Through the visual sandbox and the imitation of the operation modes of the enterprises, the game-like Sandbox Simulation Management of the Enterprises makes the students experience the whole process of managing the enterprises, perceive their typical developing processes, and sense the correct thoughts and concepts of management.
In the competition, there are five members in each team and each of them played the roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Production Officer and Chief Procurement Officer respectively. Each team can make full use of the suppositional 6 million cash and the usable loan which is up to 18 million to finish the whole process of the product research and development, the arrangement of the production line, the advertisement expenditure and the marketing of the products. The team from Hunan University of Science & Technology won the special award after one day and a half’s fierce competition.
During the Festival, besides the Sandbox Competition, more activities were held, such as “2015 Education Seentao Forum of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Educational Reform of Hunan Higher Education”, “Seentao Entrepreneurship Open Courses” and “Famous Experts’ Lecture Series”. The leaders, experts and scholars from the educational authorities and the undergraduate demonstration universities gathered together to discuss the topics which are related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Liu Guoquan, the vice-president of Hunan University of Commerce, said that the university has attached great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship for a long time, and its educational goals are to become “the base of training Hunan economic talents and the cradle of producing professional entrepreneurs”. Liu also pointed out that, in order to construct the trinity talent cultivation mode of knowledge, the personality shaping and ability training, the university has taken a series of measures in this aspect, such as building comprehensively the campus culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing students’ awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship, constructing the system of innovation and entrepreneurship courses which are related to the major, tamping students’ basic knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthening students’ practice of innovation and entrepreneurship through various ways, improve students’ ability to do pioneering work, organizing the teaching centre of entrepreneurship education and practice and planning the innovation and entrepreneurship work as a whole.
