A New Move in Advertising Education

On June 27th morning, co-sponsored by Hunan University of Commerce, Hengyang Normal College and Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, Advertising Education Alliance(AEA), the first cross-campus advertising research alliance domestically as well as the first one in our provincial campus-enterprise cultivation base was founded in our university and served as a new move in modern media education.
AEA decided to organize an advertising teaching conference each term in turn, and hold competitions for students’ advertising works as well as their advertising research articles. This meeting lasted for a day. In the morning, some general issues concerning advertising education were discussed while in the afternoon it focused on specific teaching problems concerning on a special course in advertising teaching curriculum.
In the morning discussion section, teacher He Huzhi in our university’s advertising major introduced American new trends of advertising education shared by AEJMC in 2014 Montreal Advertising Teaching Conference in Canada. Director Tang Jin from News Broadcasting Department of Hunan Normal College shared their experience and reflection of organizing and managing advertising practical teaching in local college. Teacher Liu Yan’e from Hunan Institute of Science and Technology systematically introduced development of advertising education in America and the characteristics of their curriculum.
In the afternoon discussion section, views were shared around how to teach the course General Introduction to Advertising. Teachers Wen Xinhua, Fen Lin, Qiu Wenzhong respectively from our university, Hunan Normal College and Hunan Institute of Science and Technology aired their views. Other members present in the meeting also passionately participated in the discussion concerning some common problems in teaching process.
The second AEA advertising teaching conference will be held in Hengyang Normal College in this year’s second half. (Chen Juan)
