A Civil Servant’s Psychological Struggle---A Good Choice Helped One Out of Puzzle

In the afternoon of June 16th , first lecture of “Lushan” Alumni and Entrepreneur Forum sponsored by School of Tourism Management was held in Room 301 of the Second Office Building. Our univesity’s alumnus Lei Zhijun working in Hunan Provincial Government was the speaker.

Lei Zhijun shared his own life experience from home to school and from school to working place, saying that he was ordinary as a student and as a civil servant.

His understanding of choice was divided into three parts. Firstly, we were born to have no choice and we should welcome the challenge with positive attitude. He chose to concentrate on study instead of worrying about the high tuition when he was admitted by Hunan University of Commerce after he took part in his second college entrance exam. Secondly, we should be careful in making choices and make every possible effort to achieve the purpose. He finally chose to be a civil servant instead of pursuing postgraduate education or becoming a businessman in Shenzhen City. On his way of a civil servant, he was always motivated, clear about the direction and chances, and finally walked to the office of provincial government after several times’ transformation when young. Thirdly,we should learn to plan and work hard for success. To make a plan, we should learn the meaning of success. Then with perseverance, we need to work hard and be unique for the real success.

Finally, Mr. Lei promised to be the honor of Alma Mater by working hard with gratitude and for the university’s development.
