On May 26th , the Chinese Culture (Suining) Forum sponsored by Chinese Culture Promotion Society was held in Huangsang MiaoZhuang, Huangsang National Nature Reserve of Suining County. Luo Xiaoge, professor from our university’s School of Literature and Journalism, director of Feminist Research Center and director of Chinese Women's Association was invited to attend the forum and give a keynote speech about Chinese traditional folk culture and the development of women.
Luo Xiaoge pointed out that the folk culture with a large amount of minority culture and regional culture was also a kind of folk culture, the mother culture, and the Chinese traditional folk culture was strongly correlated with the development of women. Professor Luo further summarized the relationship as four aspects: the traditional Chinese social structure of home state isomorphism; the economic way of life as men plowed the fields and women wove cloth; the popularity of women' s education facilitated by traditions of civilian-run schools and familial-run schools; the harmonious but different multi-culture.
The forum, themed as “The Influence of the Traditional Folk Culture on the Modern Domestic Culture” and “The Heritage and Development of the Suining Wunuo Culture and Feminist Culture”, advocated the modern family culture with "Harmony" at the core and promoted the heritage and development of Suining Wunuo culture and female culture. In the forum, the Declaration of Huangsang was approved and issued. It would be carved into inscriptions, and permanently preserved in Huangsang ancient Shangbao, Suining County. (He Yuping)
