In afternoon of May 11th, School of Tourism Management held a symposium for graduates in Room 121 in the First Office Building. Dean Zhong Zhiping, and Guo Yihong, deputy secretary of Party branch, all department heads, teachers in the student office and teachers affairs office and representatives of graduates attended the meeting.
The symposium mainly included 3 parts. The first part was to share job-hunting experience; the second part was to get a good knowledge of graduates’ problems in employment and to ask for comments and proposals on teaching and employment; the third part was to provide consultations about graduates’ employment procedures, policies, and other related issues.
At the meeting, the representatives from three majors respectively communicated the experience during the internship, their confusions in their study and put forward their views and suggestions on the construction of the college. Combining the characteristics of different majors and graduates’ actual capacity, Zhong Zhiping made answers in terms of the class learning and employment. He listened carefully to the graduates’ views about the arrangement of the school curriculum and stressed that the choice of career should be adapted enough to the individual interests. He gave best wishes to graduating students and hoped they could love their mother school, learn to be grateful, show good performance in work, have a harmonious family and be in good health. At last, teacher Wang Peiliang analyzed current social development situation. He indicated that there were many employment opportunities in the period of social transformation though the competition was fierce. The graduates must be cautious and continue to learn. Theory, practice, innovation and culture could exchange for dignity, wealth, happiness and joy.
