Our University’s 2015 Dormitory Culture Festival Successfully Ended

In the afternoon of May 12th , the final of 2015 Dormitory Culture Festival in Hunan University of Commerce was held in multi-functional lecture hall in our school’s library. This competition was hosted by the  Student Affairs Division as well as the Student Apartment Service Center and co-organized by Student Unions from School of Finance and Banking, School of Accounting and School of Law. Gao Junjie, Tian Aijun and Zhang Gaoyang, teachers from School of Finance and Banking, Zhou Xi,  teacher from School of Accounting and Yin Qin, teacher from School of Law as well as representatives of students from all schools participated in the activity.

After several rounds of selection, altogether 14 dormitories entered the final which included two parts: presentation of dormitory culture and talent show. Combining dormitory decorative presentations with different themes and talent shows, such as dancing, singing, sign language performance, teams participating in the contest fully showed the spirit and vigor of contemporary university students, interpreting the warmth and harmony among roommates simultaneously. The first one, Dormitory 414 called “Ridges of Lion and Camel” in Building 7 of Xiande Apartment was extremely creative, as they showed the unique charm of their dormitory in the form of narration and drama performance. The dormitory called “Cute Assembly” recorded roommates’ every moment of military training, travel and study with cameras. A series of dances performed by them kindled the audiences with passion and the famous song Gangnan Style put it to a climax. The lighting brought by the four young men from dormitory called “Never Fail in Exam” won high praises from judges. What’s more, their dance Yangge of Chinese characteristic impressed all the people. Dormitory 1616 from School of Accounting, brought a wonderful PPT. And the true feelings showed by the six girl members were touching. After fierce competition, dormitory“Never Fail in Exam” won the first prize while the dormitories “Cute Assembly” and “Family for Southern Trees” won the second prize and the dormitories“Ridges of Lion and Camel”, “Big Hero” won the third prize. There are no empty seats during the whole activity and applause from audiences rang out continuously.

This Dormitory Culture Festival fully aroused the enthusiasm of each dormitory, prospered the campus-culture construction in a deeper way, strengthened roommates’ sense of teamwork, created a healthy, harmonious, enterprising and positive campus atmosphere of sincere cooperation.
