In order to carry forward the Chinese cultural heritage, stimulate creative expressions of outstanding traditional culture, and showcase the unique charm of Chinese characters, the university hosted the "Exploring the Beauty of Chinese Characters" Creative Chinese Art Exhibition from September 17 to September 24, successively at both the North and South campuses. The exhibition was hosted by the HUTB Language Affairs Commission and co-organized by the School of Digital Media and Humanities, in collaboration with the Hunan Songdan Chinese Character Art Museum.

The exhibition, with the theme "Exploring the Beauty of Chinese Characters," featured over a hundred historical items and cultural products that documented the development and cultural significance of Chinese characters. It offered a multi-faceted reflection of innovative achievements in the inheritance and promotion of the uniqueness of Chinese characters. Creative calligraphy masterpieces and the uniquely designed "Bai Jia Xing (Hundred Family Surnames) Scroll" vividly showcased the organic fusion of traditional culture and modern art. Informative and interactive exhibits on Chinese characters, along with the tangible experience of letterpress printing, left the visitors captivated. The Chinese character culture experience area was bustling with people. From this, the audience gained a profound understanding of the vitality and innovativeness of China's outstanding traditional culture.

Professor Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB and Director of the HUTB Language Affairs Commission, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. She emphasized that this event was not only a cultural celebration within the campus but also a cultural promotion effort aimed at the broader society. Chinese characters are the most representative cultural symbol of the Chinese nation. In this exhibition, we actively respond to the nation's language and writing policies. Using Chinese characters as a medium and "creation" as the theme, we showcase the diverse and creative expressions of Chinese character art and culture. The aim is to activate innovative dissemination of traditional culture, showcase the beauty of Chinese characters, and inspire a love for Chinese culture among young students and the wider public. This exhibition also encourages a conscious commitment to the inheritance and development of outstanding traditional culture, fostering cultural confidence and cultural innovation.

This Chinese Character Creative Art Exhibition is one of the activities in the university's "Radiance of Humanities Season" series and also one of the activities in the university's 26th National "Mandarin Promotion Week." The purpose of this event is to actively promote the national language and writing policies, uphold tradition while fostering innovation, enhance cultural confidence, and inherit and promote outstanding traditional Chinese culture. It serves as an important practical part of the themed education, actively contributing to the university's strategic goals of "Three Advances and Three Highs," promoting the development of "Cultural HUTB," and facilitating interdisciplinary integration of science and humanities, which is one of the important initiatives in cultivating innovative talents.
