HUTB Holds 2023 Faculty and Staff Fitness Dance Competition

    To enrich the cultural and physical activities of the faculty and staff, improve their physical fitness, and enhance their cohesion, the Faculty and Staff Fitness Dance Competition was held on the afternoon of October 17 at the Yangfan Sports Center in the South Campus. The competition had the theme "Building Dreams at HUTB, Striving for a New Journey." The event was attended by Liu Guoquan, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, and Xiao Xiaoqin, former Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Chairman of the Labour Union.

Chairman Xiao Xiaoqin delivered a speech at the competition. He stated that in recent years, the university has continuously increased its investment in sports, improved the facilities for faculty and staff activities, and fostered a positive sports culture. The "Sports HUTB" development has been remarkably successful. He hoped that all athletes would uphold the Olympic spirit of "Faster, Higher, Stronger and Together" and demonstrate their skill and style in the competition. Subsequently, Vice President Liu Guoquan officially declared the competition open.

The fitness dance competition kicked off with an exciting dragon dance performance. A golden dragon weaved and danced across the arena, instantly igniting the atmosphere. In the waiting area, the faculty and staff athletes were full of energy and confidence. 18 teams from various secondary labour unions engaged in fierce competition, collectively presenting a highly entertaining "Dance Extravaganza."

On the competition stage, each team took turns to perform to lively and rhythmic music. The team members exhibited coordinated movements, high spirits, and boundless vitality, creating an atmosphere filled with joy and the charm of fitness dance. Graceful dance postures and energetic steps left the onlookers mesmerized. Difficult moves such as lifts, jumps, somersaults, and one-legged stands received enthusiastic applause. The competition was full of surprises as teams integrated various forms such as sword dancing, fan dancing, violin, calligraphy, and more into their performances. The audience's excitement reached its peak, and cheers echoed throughout the event. Every dance demonstrated the athletes' pursuit of health and their passion for life.

After professional evaluation and scoring by the expert judging panel, the results were as follows: First prize was awarded to the Logistics Management Service Center Branch Labour Union and the School of Design and Art Branch Labour Union; second prize recipients included the Administrative Department III Branch Labour Union, School of Computer Science Branch Labour Union, School of Economy & Trade Branch Labour Union, and Administrative Department II Branch Labour Union; third prize was granted to the School of Accounting Branch Labour Union, Library Branch Labour Union, School of Digital Media and Humanities Branch Labour Union, Administrative Department IV Branch Labour Union, the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies Branch Labour Union, and the School of Microelectronics and Physics Branch Labour Union (joint award). The School of Foreign Languages Branch Labour Union, School of Finance Branch Labour Union, School of Public Administration and Human Geography Branch Labour Union, School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing Branch Labour Union, School of Marxism Studies Branch Labor Union, and School of Business Administration Branch Labour Union received the Organization Award. The School of Sports and Health Branch Labour Union was awarded the Special Contribution Award. Leaders and guests present at the event presented medals to the winning teams.
