International Students of HUTB Participate in "Welcoming Spring with Calligraphy · Writing Spring Couplets and Sending Blessings" Activity

On the afternoon of January 19, international students staying on campus participated in the activity "Welcoming Spring with Calligraphy · Writing Spring Couplets and Sending Blessings" held by the Labour Union at Lingnan Staff Home. Together with teachers and students, they experienced traditional Spring Festival culture and welcomed the arrival of the Lunar New Year.

Teacher Feng Yong from the School of Art & Design explained the historical origin and cultural connotation of Spring couplets to the international students. In the practical session, under the guidance of the teacher, the international students personally experienced the art of Chinese calligraphy, writing the character "Fu" (blessing) and Spring couplets to express their wishes for the Spring Festival and their love for Chinese culture. Teacher Feng Yong also created auspicious Spring couplets for each student on site, conveying warm New Year wishes through hi***rushwork.

The activity came to a successful conclusion amid laughter and joy of teachers and students. This activity not only allowed international students to deeply experience Chinese folk culture, but also built a vivid platform for cross-cultural communication and promoted friendly interaction***etween Chinese and foreign teachers and students. The international students expressed their sincere blessings to China and the university, wishing all teachers and students a happy Spring Festival and all the best in the Year of the Horse.
