HUC Boosts Hunan Merchant Culture Research to the New Realm

On June 30th morning, the inaugural meeting of Hunan Merchant Culture Association & the first General Assembly was held in Changsha. Party secretary of Federation of Industry and Commerce in Hunan Tang Xinhua, party secretary of HUC Tang Yayang as well as over one hundred representatives from the realms of government, enterprise, academia attended the meeting. After the approval of “The Constitution of Hunan Merchant Culture Association” Huang Jianguo, the former provincial Party Committee and provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, was elected as the honorary chairman, dean of the school of literature and journalism in HUC Zheng Jiaming as the president.

Party secretary of HUC Tang Yayang delivered the opening address on behalf of the affiliated unit of Hunan Merchant Culture Association. Secretary Tang fully affirmed the significance, status and role of the association and indicated that HUC, as the cradle of talent cultivation and cultural transmission base, would endeavor to provide support for the association.

President Zheng Jiaming made a work report at the meeting. From the height of the top-level design he outlined the blueprint for the future development from four aspects, to establish the scientific research platform for the creation and research on Hunan merchants, the service platform for Hunan merchants and enterprises, the publicizing platform for the inheritance of Huxiang Culture and the communication platform for exchange and linkage to promote the development of Hunan merchants. Finally, the Party Secretary of provincial Industry and Commerce Association Tang Xinhua and the chairman of Dahan Holding Group Corporation Ltd. Fu Shenglong jointly inaugurated for Hunan Merchant Culture Associate.

After the preliminary organization and preparation of HUC, Hunan Merchant Culture Associate has now attracted 55 contributing experts, 8 launched units, 9 guiding units and 129 members. The establishment of Hunan Merchant Culture Association has important practical significance for systematic research on Hunan Merchant and it is supposed to further enhance economic confidence of Hunan people, to build Hunan business brand, to promote the commercial spirit of Huxiang culture for the construction of powerful cultural province and the promotion of Hunan's economic and social development.
