HUC Broaden New Horizon on International Cooperative School-running of Local Universities and Colleges

Recently, Chen Xiaohong, the principal of Hunan University of Commerce(HUC), led a delegation to five overseas universities, including University of West London, York St John University, University of Sunderland, Dublin Institute of Technology of Ireland and Griffith University, with which a contract was signed for sino-foreign cooperative school-running operation on accounting major and four strategic agreements for interschool communication and cooperation.

This visit has yielded many positive results. On the basis of existing interschool cooperation with Griffith University of Ireland and Saxion university of Holland, HUC has also established collaborations with York St John University, University of Sunderland, Dublin Institute of Technology, among which Dublin Institute of Technology ranks 249 in the world, and the cooperation would provide an fine platform for all-round international exchanges and cooperation for all the staff.

As a leading university of Hunan province in higher education of finance and economics, HUC tries to broaden its sino-foreign cooperative school-running vision emphasizing on improving teaching quality through international education. In August 2015, with the approval of National Department of Education, HUC held a higher education cooperation project on finance major with Frostburg State University of America, which will formally enroll students nationwide this year. Now, HUC is on its forthcoming way to apply for cooperative education program on accounting. According to the signed agreements, overseas cooperative universities will send talented professionals to teach at HUC, which will make it feasible for students to enjoy foreign educational resources and innovative cultivation mode in HUC.

During the exchange, Yue Xiaoyong, the Chinese ambassador in Ireland, granted an interview to the delegation led by Chen Xiaohong and also had a discussion with her on the successful factors for Ireland’s early recovery from economic depression and regional development strategies in Hunan.
