Professor Guo Talks over “Internet +” in Hunan:Only the Innovator Can Surpass the Formers

On April 26th evening, Guo Chongqing, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech at Lushan forum themed on "'Internet + ': a disruptive innovation, an industrial, economic and social transformation”. He had a hot discussion with the staff in HUC on the change and transition of manufacture in the era of “Internet + ” .
Professor Guo, as an expert on mechanical manufacturing technology and equipment, facilities planning & design and industrial development, served as the science & management development director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and associate director in project science & management department of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has a long career in project design, consultancy and strategy research of industry development. In 1989, he was awarded the title of the master of China's engineering design.
Professor Guo pointed out that China is presently on the intersection of a new round of technological revolution, industrial improvement and economic transition. Only by grasping wave of Cloud Computing and Big Data can China become the steamroller of the Internet economy. He also confirmed that the development of Internet economy is firmly related with certain industries’ bust and death. “Internet +” is a developing process of consistent subversion-style innovation which will inevitably confront a series of economic and social difficulties and focuses.
Professor Guo puts forward that the trend of manufacture development under 'Internet + ' lies in the integration of hardware, software and services. He believes that the era of software defined system has already arrived and CPS (combination of product’s two spaces) is bound to set off the development of manufacturing industry. He also thinks that the integration of products and services is the main feature of the information tide, and the manufacturing product mainly consists of links, open platforms and App software.
Professor Guo answers several doubts about the developments of Chinese manufacturing industry and Internet economy. He points out that it remains to be seen whether manufacturing will backflow to U.S, but for sure, only the subversion-style innovator can surpass the formers. He admits that China should reflect on how to integrate supply side reform with the Internet economy to improve upside potential of manufacturing. At the same time, he mentions that under the impact of Internet China's countryside and Chinese Education system should comply with the development of the times as possible.
