This morning, 2015 “Intermediate Inspection and Concluding Evaluation of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars” of the Management Science, hosted by Management Department of National Natural Science Foundation and organized by Hunan University of Commerce and Business School of Central South University, was held in Changsha. The attendees included 15 reviewers specialized in Management Science, superior leaders from Management Department of National Natural Science Foundation as well as management scientists from relevant research institutions and universities. Twelve winners from research institutions and universities (e.g., Tsinghua University) made reports on the progress of projects and innovation of researches, and the outstanding achievements of the projects and researches were specially reported.

LI Yijun, the executive Deputy Director of Management Department of National Natural Science Foundation, introduced that the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars is a kind of trend-setting project sponsoring high-tech talents, who select research topics and carry out the exploration by themselves. Found in 1994, it has sponsored 3222 young scholars, among which 102 are specialized in Management Science. Since 2014, the total funding has been increased into 4 billion CNY, which is doubled from the 2 billion in the past. Among the winners who received the fund, nearly 200 were elected as academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences or Chinese Academy of Engineering, giving the Fund a name “the cradle of academicians”. (Reporter: YU Rong; Correspondent: CHAO Jinwen)
